This tour gave us a wonderful perspective on Buenos Aires history, culture, and neighborhoods. We had a lovely, safe ride through beautiful places, ate delicious snacks, and made several stops where our guide Frani told memorable stories about each place and provided his own point of view about how to understand the mindset of the people of Argentina. I asked a lot of questions and he made time to answer them all, even offering to extend the tour so we could talk more. You will not find a better guide than Frani. He loves his city and country and treats each place we visited with respect, introducing us to people and recommending which markets have true artisans and are worth supporting. In La Boca, he introduced us to a local volunteer firefighter, and explained to us how he was an example of the strong community bonds in this beautiful neighborhood. Very poor people joined together to create a firefighting force to protect La Boca without any help from the government. Frani helped us to see how this fit together with public art, love of football, and protection of historical architecture as acts of protest and community-building in a country which has so often failed and even attacked its own people. I recommend this tour even if you already know Buenos Aires. You will learn a lot.
