  • Tholos of Athena Pronaia

    The Tholos of Delphi is among the ancient structures of the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia in Delphi. The circular temple, a tholos, shares the immediate site with other ancient foundations of the Temple of Athena Pronaia, all located less than a mile east of the main ruins at Delphi, in the modern Greek regional unit of Phocis. The tholos is part of the Delphi UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Delphi Archaeological Museum

    Delphi Archaeological Museum is one of the principal museums of Greece and one of the most visited. It is operated by the Greek Ministry of Culture. Founded in 1903, it has been rearranged several times and houses the discoveries made at the Panhellenic sanctuary of Delphi, which dates from the Late Helladic (Mycenean) period to the early Byzantine era. Organized in fourteen rooms on two levels, the museum mainly displays statues, including the famous Charioteer of Delphi, architectural elements, like the frieze of the Siphnian Treasury, and ex-votos dedicated to the sanctuary of Pythian Apollo, like the Sphinx of Naxos.

    Visit Delphi archeological site, a UNESCO-recognized archeological site that’s among Greece’s most iconic places. In ancient times was a sacred precinct that served as the seat of Pythia, the major oracle who was consulted about important decisions throughout the ancient classical world. The Temple of Apollo, god of music, harmony, light, healing, and oracles occupied the most important and prominent position in the Delphic Panhellenic Sanctuary. The edifice with the partially restored colonnade visible today dates to the 4th century BC; it is the third temple built at the same place. The famous oracle, the Pythia, operated inside the temple, the location chosen, according to one tradition, due to a sacred chasm beneath the site emitting vapors, which were inhaled by the Pythia. Some ancient writers state that the Pythia then entered a state of delirium and uttering inarticulate cries, which were then turned into equivocal oracles by the priests

Wonderful!!

Our driver Alex was amazing. So knowledgeable and engaged. He made the experience wonderful. The site is majestic and we picked the perfect time of year for the weather and the tourism. We walked comfortably without just light sweaters and there were only small numbers of people which made it more enchanting. Definitely recommend!

By far a highlight of our trip to Greece! We were so lucky to have Alex as our driver and tour guide. What a treat. Delphi can not be missed if in Athens. LS tours was prompt, meeting us at our hotel ahead of our scheduled tour start, with a text to let us know they were on their way. Alex sent us to the best lunch spot with an epic view! The vehicle was spotless and very comfortable. Alex was a joy to have at the helm and so knowledgeable of all things Greece!

Nikos made our trip to Delphi relaxing and enjoyable. We were able to enjoy the beautiful countryside and learn about Greece on our way to Delphi through his interesting conversation. After the tour, he made reservations for us at a yummy and quaint mountain side restaurant with a beautiful view. We appreciate his customer focused attention to detail.

Delphi; a must see!

Being able to see Delphi, the Center of the Earth, was very interesting. The museum was great. It was hard to fathom the antiquity, that has been discovered and is so well documented and preserved. Our driver, “Billy”, was a trustworthy, excellent driver. He was entertaining and enthused to show the four of us (2 couples), sites from Athens to Delphi. A super great choice. We had made the reservations in March, for October 6th; all the communication was clear and made for a seamless adventure.

This is the way to see Delphi. Our driver/host, Bill, was a delight and very knowledgeable. The pick up and drop off service made everything so simple and also so comfortable. The suggested lunch venue had amazing views and also brilliant menu with lots of local produce to try. Highly recommend LS Tours - I will use them again without a doubt.
