I never thought I’d book a private guide – usually I do my own research and trust my instincts. But then I stumbled on an interview and got curious.
So I thought, let’s try. I wrote him a message, half-expecting nothing to come of it. You know – maybe he’d reply tomorrow, or not at all.
But nope. He replied right away – clear, kind, spot-on. I knew this was going to be different.
And it was.
Dasen didn’t just walk me through Split. He unlocked it.
We talked ancient stones, secret bars, street legends, ghosts of Diocletian’s palace, and one famously controversial statue.
No dry facts – just the heart of the city, told with soul and spark.
I came with biases – left in love. With Split.
Dasen, please – never stop doing this. And hey – come visit Nova Gorica, Slovenia.
We’ve got the last French king buried among roses – no sign, no plaque, just silence.
We’ve joined two cities: Nova Gorica in Slovenia and Gorizia in Italy – a unique phenomenon.
Different languages, histories, cultures – yet somehow united.
It’s beautiful. And a little sad.
Because we still don’t know how to tell that story the way you do.
