    Travel the roads of the ancient Mayan city of Calakmul, one of the main capitals of the Mayan world and one of the largest archeological findings of the Twentieth Century. Discover the exuberant wildlife among the surrounding jungle, where you can spot monkeys, toucans, ocellated turkeys, deer and, if lucky, jaguars and pumas. ​ After your trip from Campeche early in the morning, we'll drive for approximately one and a half hours, entering the Biosphere Reserve, where the ancient Mayan capital of Calakmul lies. The road opens unique chances to spot flora and fauna endemic to the region. The clean and fresh air makes for a full immersion trip into nature. ​ In the archeological site, we will walk through the paths for approximately four hours while telling you all about the meanings and uses of the buildings, as well as the history of this significant Mayan city from the Classic period. If you’re looking for a full day immersed in a quiet and unique natural environment, this is it.

Long but enjoyable experience

We started our tour from Campeche early in the morning and we come back early evening, so it was a long day. Nevertheless we enjoyed the tour. Good experience.

Climb Mayan pyramids for impressive views

Amazing tour to Calakmul from Casa Ka'an (Xpujil). The view from the pyramids is so impressive. We climbed 3 pyramids, which means, you have to climb approximatly 50 floors by staircase. We highly recommend to do this tour, because nobody knows how long you have the possibility to climb the pyramids and it is definitly a highlight of each Yucatan trip. Ka'an Expeditions is very professional and I can recommend them to everybody. We also did the jungle tour with them and stayed at their hotel (Casa Ka'an).

Ruins, vistas and monkeys.

We had a wonderful tour with Bianca and Samuel, the driver. The view across the jungle from the top of the ruins (30 miles of green in all directions) will stay with us for life. We were a family of 5 and our youngest , aged 7, made it to the top of the ruins. Bianca was insightful and energetic and her English is perfect. Three howler monkeys showed up in the canopy just as we were about to leave. I fully recommend this tour. John Hayes, London.

The driver Samuel was timely, professional, and friendly. He promptly picked me up from my hotel, drove me to the destination, and returned me safely, at the end of the tour. The tour guide Manuel was very professional, informative, patient, and friendly. He made the excursion educational and enjoyable. The sandwich and salad lunch was good, plentiful, and tasty. This Calakmul Ancient Maya City Tour with Ka'an Expeditions has my highest recommendation.

Amazing tour to a unique location

This tour was great! Everything was on time. Our tour guide, Angel, was amazing. We would have missed so many birds and animals as well as details about the ruins without him. The food was also great and Ka'an Expeditions picked up all of our dietary restrictions. Ka'an Expeditions made getting to this remote site easy and comfortable.
