Would you like to have someone walk you through the regions of French wine? Our guides can do this because they are food professionals - former chefs, food writers, and wine experts - not a student who has memorized a script. We have selected only the highest quality shops to showcase some of the best France has to offer. Come hungry as portion sizes are generous!

Itinerary

Grosse Cloche

The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and is divided into two parts. The first half has you visiting the best artisanal shops in the city - specifically an artisanal bakery, fromagerie, butcher and cannele pastry shop. You will sample a few items along the way but the main event happens during the second half of the tour. You will enjoy a seated wine, cheese and charcuterie pairing for a blowout finish at a wine cellar/wine shop. As we are walking, we'll point out a few historical landmarks in Old Town Bordeaux from the Camino de Santiago to the Grosse Cloche - one of the most recognized monuments of Bordeaux.

A tasty tour!

My fiancée and I were lucky to have Diane the founder of Bordeaux in Bites take us to some lovely places in a very charming part of Bordeaux. Her energy and depth of knowledge were beyond compare, and we have made sure to tell all of our friends back home about the special spots we visited during the tour. We are so glad to have done this on our first full day in the city, as it helped us get a sense of the area and to get tips on where to go for the following days. Can't recommend enough!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience on the food tour! Alex was very knowledgeable about food and recommended pairings. He also shared so much about the history of the city. The group size was also great to get to know people and added to the experience.

Great tour. We went to different shops to select bread, cheese , meats and learnt about the city as we went . We then headed to a wine bar to try the food paired with wine. Alex was a great host

Our guide was wonderful - so knowledgeable about foods , wines and the history - he weaved it together beautifully. It was such a rainy day yet we were able to walk and pop in here and there to get out of the rains Alessandro (hope I spelled correctly) was very attentive to us. And our likes and dislikes (we didn’t really have any, but he asks!) . The pairing was well done and one could tell he lives and loves good food and wine. It is an art to him. And we learned so much. I would highly recommend.
