Overview

First we will visit the Bodrum Castle is a historical fortification located in southwest Turkey in the port city of Bodrum, built from 1402 onwards, by the Knights of St John (Knights Hospitaller) as the Castle of St. Peter. A transnational effort, it has four towers known as the English, French, German, and Italian towers, bearing the names of the nations responsible for their construction. The chapel was built around 1407 and the first walls completed in 1437. The castle started reconstruction in the late 14th century, only to be taken over by the Islamic Ottoman Empire in 1523 After having a tasteful lunch at one of the best restaurants at the promenade known for its starters sea food and meat, we have the opportunity to enjoy the natural root dyeing process of Turkish carpets. Wine tasting which offers award-winning special Zinfandel wine and natural homemade goat cheese with local olives.

One of the world's finest museums of underwater archeology housed in a superb 15th century castle built by the Knights of St. John of Rhodes. The world's oldest known shipwreck exhibition is now open. This star attraction rates a 'must see' on everyone's list.

The Mausoleum of Halikarnassus was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Its monumental statuary is in the British Museum but some artifacts and replicas of its friezes can be seen on the site.

The Amphitheater seating about 13. 000 spectators the theater dates to the region of Mausolus but with modifications added by the Romans. With rock tombs above, the site provides an unequalled view of the city.
