Overview

This is an opportunity not just to see the Island of Santa Catarina but to feel it and taste it! We will meet at Bike To Go, a Bike rental shop. I will help you set up your bike and give you general instructions. Once on our bikes, we will get to know the geography and history of the central region of FlorianĂłpolis. The 22 kilometers of the route are almost entirely on cycle routes and it is quite flat, with a total elevation of only 137 meters. The path is easy and safe, even more so when traveled in a group and guided by a professional, but if you feel you need a little help we offer electric bikes for an extra price. We will make 6 stops along the way for geographic and historical contextualization, but at any time participants can interact with me and ask questions. At the end of the tour, in Bar do Ori, I will reccomend you the best bars and restaurants in town.

  • Manguezal do Itacorubi

    Our first stop is at a deck to interpret the region's Mangrove Park. If we are lucky enough, we may spot locals birds, monkeys, capibaras or even alligators there.

  • Avenida Beira-Mar Continental

    The Beira Mar (seaside) Avenue connects the central Island to Trindade, the Universities neighbourhood. It is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset and ride our bikes.

  • Pedro Ivo Campos Bridge

    Pedro Ivo Campos Bridge is one of the three bridges connecting the Island of Santa Catarina to the continent. Underneath it, the is a bike bath recently renovated filled with graffitti and urban art.

  • Hercilio Luz Bridge

    This is the longest suspension bridge in Brazil and is the city's postcard. On Sundays it is closed for cars so we can ride our bikes in it. On Weekdays we take the cycle routes on its side.

  • Parque da Luz

    This park is the perfect place to breathe fresh air in the middle of the city's hustle and bustle. It is also where we can have a quick picnic to try brazilian nuts, drinks and snacks.

  • Catedral Metropolitana de Florianopolis

    The City's Cathedral is located at the very heart of the Historic center so it's a good opportunity to appreciate the local life and architecture

  • Praca Getulio Vargas

    To access GetĂşlio Vargas Square we ride thorugh the beautiful HercĂ­lio Luz Avenue. The Square marks the end of the Historic Center.

    Our last stop is at Bar do Ori, at Santa MĂ´nica Neighbourhood. This local and traditional bar is famous for its meatball sandwiches.

Great experience and education

Isaac is a wonderful guide. He is genuine, encouraging, and knowledgeable. His stories and the path of the tour made for an excellent introduction to FlorianĂłpolis.

Get some exercise and see Floripa

Great ride along some beautiful bike paths in Floripa. The guide, Isaac, is energetic and knowledge. The route is pretty safe and goes along the water most of the way. 90% flat with a couple of moderate/difficult hills but they were only a block or so. There were three of us in our 40s/50s in decent shape. Super fun. And a great way to see the city and get some exercise for four hours.

The ride was fun! The course is safe and relatively easy, plan most of the path. Isaac is a careful guide, great person, good sense of humor. The bikes are top notch. We saw little monkeys very closely, drank sugar cane juice and after the ride we had beer and sandwiches

This tour by bike was an excellent opportunity to see the city and the hidden nature even smal crocodiles in the mangroves. The guide has profound knowledge of the history of this island.

This experience deserves nothing less than 5 stars. Isaac is simply amazing. His knowledge, charisma, and attention to detail make the tour even more special. He knows exactly how to engage with the group, ensuring that everyone feels included and informed. Safety first: The bicycles provided are extremely safe and well-maintained. Beautiful scenes and lots of lessons from FlorianĂłpolis and Brazil's history. As you pedal through Beira Mar, Isaac unveils some interesting points of Brazil's history, highlighting why the island was a strategic point during the country's colonization. Learning about the past in such an immersive way turns the tour into a very cool experience, where you sweat out but also gain valuable knowledge.
