Overview

Hands-on training with a well-known international Thai Chef, Wandee Rathanapan who recently has been choosen as a Teacher for 2 finalists Amazon Prime Series; "The World Cook Season 2" . Wandee worked as a Thai Chef in different countries such as New Zealand and Iceland and more . More than 10 years as Chef and cooking teacher and 7 years as Food Tour Leader . Cooking in a lovely open air kitchen and beautiful garden environment of Khao Lak Center. Unique cooking techniques in the tradition Thai ways that only an experienced Thai chef can teach you. Authentic way of making each dish such as curry from scratch and fresh ingredients such as fresh coconut milk, herbs, veggies, meat and seafood. Own cooking station for all students including a gas stove, own cutting board with all knives, spoons and spatulas, a mortar, an apron, and hand towels. Gluten free,Vegan and Vegetarian dishes are one of my specialties, and let's not forget that I am used to cook with children as well.

Itinerary

We will pick you up from your hotel between 9:30 - 10:00 AM (Morning class) , 3:00-3:30 PM (Afternoon class). Then we go to the local fresh market in order to learn about the ingredients you will use while cooking; Thai herbs, vegetables, spices used in the homemade chili pastes. You will also learn about where everything at the market comes from; seafood, fresh coconut milk, meats, and all the tropical fruit. While at the market you will also have the opportunity to shop for yourself. - Back at the cooking class you will cook by using the ingredients from the market. - Learn to make the curry pastes from scratch and cook with your own homemade curry paste. - With Wandee's many years of experience you will learn about traditional cooking methods, as well as learn to cook royal Thai recipes. - Q&A session at every cooking class. - The recipes of what you cook will be available after the class. - Amazing cooking environment in a new bamboo hut in the garden.

STARTER

Deep fried pork with lemongrass.

Deep fried pork minced mix with herb and wrapped with lemongrass. Serve with sweet chilli sauce

MAIN

Kaeng Chu Chi Pla( Traditional Southern curry from scratch).

A selection of Andaman fish cooked it with homemade curry paste from scratch and fresh coconut milk from our local market.

DESSERT

Bualoi (Thai riceball in warm coconut milk)

Traditional Thai dessert made from stickey rice flour and special ingredients. Unique preparation. Boil in hot water and cook in warm coconut milk.

STARTER

Yam Som O (Pomelo Salad)

Super fresh and full of colour dish, Pomelo mix in traditional dressing salad such as fish sauce, lime, chilli oil and sugar. Refreshing and tasteful.

An amazing experience and I would highly recommend coming here. The food was incredible and all of the people were lovely. It was very fun and interesting to learn about different Thai foods. It was such a quiet and clean environment as well.
