Itinerary

  • Pack Square

An Asheville mayor killed himself in the Jackson building. How may people have jumped from the top? And why is there a bulls-eye on the sidewalk below? Learn about the ghoul of the old jail, Thomas Wolfe's ghost, Helen's Bridge, and more!

    15 minutes

  • Grove Arcade

Hear the controversial story of the murder of Helen Clevenger in the Battery Park Hotel, and why a blood-red haze is said to appear around her murder-room window on the anniversary of the tragedy.

    10 minutes

  • Basilica of Saint Lawrence

This building's architect is entombed in the wall of this church, and his apparition is seen roaming in the night, gazing, in awe, at the world-class dome he constructed with a secret method.

    10 minutes

  • Thomas Wolfe Memorial

The spirits of the great author (Look Homeward, Angel), and his brother, roam the halls of this storied mansion. Thomas Wolfe even wrote about spirits before he died at age 37. Wait till you hear the full story!

    5 minutes

  • Pritchard Park

This is where troops rallied before the "Battle of Asheville" in the Civil War. Southern ghosts still violently shove some people to the ground, and spectral drums are heard beating in the night.

Perfect night activity in Ashville

Published on Jan, 2025

We had a blast! It was a smaller than usual group due to the weather but it was great because we got to ask a lot of questions. Guides we informative and entertaining, a perfect mix of paranormal and local history!

Brian is amazing!

Published on Dec, 2024

What an awesome experience! Brian our tour guide was an amazing storyteller weaving both historical and ghost stories seamlessly. We went on a rainy night but that did not dampen the experience at all. I highly recommend this tour, and Brian!

Really enjoyed ourselves

Published on Dec, 2024

My 14-year-old granddaughter and I went on this walking ghost tour. I thought it was great and really enjoyed myself, even my granddaughter stayed engaged about 50% of the time. Which is better than usual. The guide was great. It was more of a combination of history, legends, true crime, & ghosts..

Ghost tour gurus give this 5 stars

Published on Dec, 2024

We have done ghost tours in every city we have visited in the last 5 or more years - Charleston, St. Augustine, Savannah, Chicago, etc... - and we LOVE them. This one was easily one of the best we have done. The location listed in the email was right on point for the meeting place. It was easily walkable from our hotel, too. We didn't check the weather, so unfortunately, we ended up doing it on a night when it was 25 degrees out. Brian, our guide, was awesome enough to keep us out in the cold for a long while. Also, we started with 4 on the tour and he let us know right away that we could ask for any type of personalizations we wanted in such a small group, which was great. He took us around to some really great spots, and while nothing happened in front of our eyes, you could feel the weight of the events he was describing. He had an excellent knowledge of Asheville history and a great sense of humor to keep his stories captivating. By the end of the tour, my husband and I were the only ones left so he was kind enough to direct it to a final stop near our hotel so we wouldn't be too far with the freezing temperatures.
