Overview

Join me for a 3-hour private tour of the city for an initial introduction, which will help you understand how Singapore turned from a poor fishing village into one of the most important cities in the world. Come and discover the rich history and heritage of this fantastic island. Enjoy the unique City View and take breathtaking photos. I am a tour guide passionate about sharing my love for the beautiful city-state of Singapore. As someone who moved to Singapore in 2013 for work, fell in love with the city and found the love of my life, my dear local wife, I bring a unique, exciting, and unusual angle to see the city.

Meeting points

Meet me at Raffles Place Train station (MRT), near the automatic ticket machines, on the Ticket concourse level (one above the platform levels). I’ll hold the "SG HOT SPOT - TOUR GUIDING" white flag. *If you are not using the train to arrive at the meeting point, please go down, to the station.

We will end our tour at the iconic Marina Bay Sands a few minutes before the start of the breathtaking Light & Water Show.

Itinerary

  • Raffles Place

    The heart of the Singapore Business District since 1822. *subject to availability - We will go up to the second-highest tower in Singapore to one of the most beautiful observation decks on the island. **If the Tower observation deck is unavailable, we will go up to the observation deck of the National Gallery of Singapore instead.

  • Singapore River

    The point where the old Port of Singapore was located. We will talk about the history of the Singapore River and how the river was significant to the island's residents.

  • Colonial District/Civic District

    The center of colonial Singapore, with many impressive Colonial buildings. It is an excellent combination scene of old and new. We will talk about the history of Singapore and why Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles decided to settle on this small island. As well we will also talk about the history of Singapore after Raffles's time and about the time of the great leader of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew.

  • Merlion Park

    The famous icon of Singapore with the lion head and the fishtail. We will take beautiful photos of the iconic skyline of Singapore and hear the story behind the Merrillion and behind the name of the city "Singapore."

  • Clifford Pier

    The old sea gateway to Singapore

    10 minutes

  • Marina Bay

    The famous Marina of Singapore, with the iconic building of the Marina Bay Sands. We will enter the marina at sunset, walk along the promenade, take spectacular photos, and end the tour at the Water and light show area.

We have traveled with Avihai for two days and his help was superb. He was exploring different aspects of the Singaporean culture, history and economic through the history with the emphasis on the Jewish history in Singapore through the centuries. His knowledge and flexibility contribute to an interesting and joyful tour. I recommend Avihai to any group which seek to spend few hours to explore Singapore better then what the eyes can see.

We were group of 3 and we took the walking tour with avihay, he was super professional and knowledgeable, he gives well formed explanations and keep it friendly to everyone I would go for another walk with him next time I am in town Don’t forget to ask him for tips at the end he knows all the spots to eat and drink
