Overview

Enjoy a guided tour in kayaks along Christianhavn's canals and Copenhagen Harbor. Admire all the architectural pearls and historical buildings from the waterside. The tour take place at a leisurely pace, where there is time and space to have fun and talk. The kayaks are stable double sea kayaks, which means that anyone can sail them. We will make small stops on our tour where we stay in the kayaks. Here will your guide tell some history and knowledge about some of the great buildings we are passing. You will meet your guide at Kalvebod Bølge for instructions, changing clothes and getting into the kayaks. The actual tour takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Meeting points

At the waterfront behind Hotel Marriot. Walk 50 meters out on the the wooden bridge and then to your left you will find Kajakhotellet.

This activity ends back at the meeting point.

  • Kalvebod Bolge

    This is the start and end location. Here you will meet your guide, get changed and in/out of the kayak.

    One of the main bridge which connect Copenhagen with Amager. We will sail under the bridge.

  • Frederiksholms & Slotholmens Kanal (Pass By)

    Passing through the canal.

  • Gammel Strand (Pass By)

    Passing through the canal and see Thorvaldsens Museum from the waterside.

  • Christiansborg Slot (Pass By)

    Se the front of the palace from the kayak and get a bit of history about the place.

  • Copenhagen Stock Exchange (Pass By)

    See one of Copenhagen's oldest buildings from the kayak. Build by HRH Christian IV in 1620.

  • N/A (Pass By)

    This four-storey rectangular building was built by Axel Berg (1856-1929) for the Privatbanken in the years 1901-1904.

  • Christianshavn (Pass By)

    Christianshavn was built by HRH Christian IV in 1617, who wanted to protect Copenhagen's city and harbor from attack. We sail though the canal and see some of the many old buildings and houseboats.

  • Det Kgl. Bibliotek (Pass By)

    See the Royal Library and The Black Diamant from the waterside.

  • Blox (Pass By)

    One of the newer buildings at the waterfront from 2017.

Copenhagen from the Water -- Incredible!

Liv was an excellent guide! She made sure we all understood the rules of kayaking in the canals of Copenhagen, before leading us on a wonderful behind the streets (and from the water!) tour of the city. Her stories were interesting and certainly a different view than what we received on other tours. I would highly recommend seeing Copenhagen from this vantage point!
