20/10, there is no better jungle trek company out there! We did the 3D2N trek with our amazing guides Didi (even though he did prank us every two minutes) and Bedu, both the funnest and most caring people we could have asked for- there was nothing they wouldn’t have done for us, even offering to donate their shoes to us halfway through the trek. The food was incredible, the staff were incredibly, from the cooks in the jungle to the staff back in Bukit Lewang. If you are looking for banter, wildlife, and people to form lasting connections with, this is THE place for you. We travelled as three backpackers on a tight budget and can’t express enough how much this particular trek was worth it. Memories to last a lifetime- there is a reason SOE is number 1! Amazing experience! Everything was perfectly organised and the team was very nice and helpful, especially Heri and Nico with whom we spent our 2 days in the jungle. We loved walking through the jungle and seeing many different animals and species! Also, before the trek, we spent one night in their lodge and it was very nice, the place is very relaxing with the river. Would highly recommend !

We've booked a 2day/1 night trek with sumatra orang utan explore. The trek was quite tough, as I expected, but I'm not a full fit person, so the guides helped a lot and offered me an option to leave with another small group earlier next day, which was totally fine and the better option for me, as my friend could stay with the rest of our group. We've seen a lot! 5 Orang Utans, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, Pigtail monkeys, long tailed monkeys, a snake, a hornbill bird and I bet, I've already forgotten some other animals. It was quite educating and we've learned a lot about the nature and the habitat of the animals. We've loved the night sleeping in the jungle, an incredible experience we will never forget! Our guides Didi and Sam were amazing! They kept us well fed (best food we've had in Bukit Lawang) and entertained. Especially Didi cracked us up with his jokes. I highly recommend booking a trek with the organization because all the guides we've met are overly friendly, funny and good people. Thanks a lot for a once in a lifetime experience! If you want to have a stunning and unforgettable experience being in the jungle and seeing orangutans (and other monkeys/animal), the Sumatra Orangutan Explore team is THE address to choose. In addition to high ethical values, sustainability work, we spent 2 days with Didi (guide), Jaka (apprentice guide) and Indra (cook) where we enjoyed their knowledge sharing, happiness, and high level of responsibility. All the phases were clearly planned all went smooth, the trek during the days, the pauses, watching animals and not to forget their ability to serve delicious dishes in the middle of the jungle was mind blowing.

We had an amazing jungle trek guided by a great team of jungle guides, Heri and Bedu. It was above our expectations. We saw many Orangutans and other apes and monkeys. Also, the food provided by during the trek was delicious, as well as the food provided in the camp by the cook Ronny. We definitely recommend to visit Bukit Lawang and do this trek!!!
