Overview

We will take you to Las Monas (the monkeys) Rainforest. It is a 25 minute hike in to the jungle you will be learning about the natural vegetation used for medicine by the natives of Las Monas. The Experience lasts 2.5-3.5 hours depending on how long you would like to be at each waterfall and swim in the natural pools. You do not have to swim if you do not want to ;) Once we get to the Waterfalls you will get to swim in the 10 natural pools or jump from the top of the waterfalls. On our way back you will have the pleasure to taste the local cuisine at La Casita del Sabor (The Home of Flavor), cooked by the Grandmother of Las Monas town. It is the perfect tour if you want to be one with nature and local culture. Hike starts easy then gets a bit more difficult so not suited for anyone with a handicap. Approximately from the start of the river to the 1st waterfall is 1km (15-20 minutes) then will see new waterfalls every 50-100 meters.

Very beautiful waterfalls...

Very beautiful waterfalls and forest! But very intense hike for a beginner and climbing up the falls was a little scary! But Pablo and Jefferson our tour guides took very good care of us and made sure we were safe!

Please note that you should be in decent shape and definitely wear water shoes for this hike. What a FAB experience for our group of six adults. Pablo and Jefferson were super knowledgeable and safe and so great at being photographers and backpack carriers. Yes you get very wet and yes you not only hike but swim in the water pools and enjoy ten waterfalls with beautiful views and nature all around. The lunch was so delicious and the hosts are so kind. This was an excursion that exceeded all of our expectations!!! Memorable excursion for sure. Gracias!!

Beautiful exciting challenging hike. Our guides were very attentive making sure everyone could do the hike. We all felt quite accomplished after finishing the hike.

MUST DO hike through waterfalls.

Must do hike! Kids ages 9 & 11 loved every minute of the exciting 2.5 hr, 4 mile adventure through the rain forest and our tour guide, Sebastian was a gem! The waterfalls are gorgeous, and the fruit and lunch was delicious & authentic. We learned so many interesting facts about the rain forest. Not challenging if you are in shape but somewhat strenuous at certain parts with incline and areas that you have to use ropes on steep rocks (but those were our favorite parts).

Amazing hike and waterfall experience for those seeking adventure, right outside of Jaco. Trail was difficult but worth it. The guide was informative and kept us safe.
