Such am amazing place to visit & definitely worth the day-trip. Our tour guide was a young lady (can't remember her name sorry) and she was brilliant - so enthusiastic & helpful, and clearly knew her stuff about Yosemite.
The tour itself starts with a stop to tour the Sequoia trees (which is quite a hilly walk), but these huge trees are worth the walk. I had assumed that the tour guide would have come with us for the walking bits to talk us through the sights during the short hikes, but to be honest there is a written guide/map for the park, plus lots of signs along the way, so you don't really need an in-person tour guide for the whole day.
Once you've seen the Sequoias, you then go to the main valley of the park where most of the main sites are & you spend a couple of hours doing the hikes there around some very breath-taking scenery.
We had a slight issue on the day where our original bus broke down, which caused us a slight delay, but this was rectified by the company & a new bus arrived later on. And that just allowed us to spend a bit more time in the Valley to enjoy those sights.
Overall I would definitely recommend both the tour and the guide that we had on the day!
