Overview

A guided tour of an award winning whisky distillery. This experience includes guided tasting of four single malt whiskies, the unique experience of comparing exactly what goes into the barrel and what comes out side by side. samling some local cheese including a rind whisky wash cheese! You will be invited to the still platfrom to get up close to the still, peer inside and savour the smells! Run by the distiller and onwers themselves enables you to have access to a font of knowledge whiskt enjoying a fun history and story of not only Chiefs Son but of whisky itself. You also get to use a thief to steal(!) some cask strength whisky from a barrel and as long as you dont spill any - you can fill a 100ml bottle to take away.

The Distillery is located at the rear of the building, look for the flag on the corner of Alfred and Guelph street, drive past the swim school and we are located on the back rear corner.

You will discover the rich history of this liquor & the process of distillation from malt to maturation. You'll get the chance to learn about Chief's Son Distillery's story & their unique flavour as you taste a range of their single malt whiskies. You'll get to pair your whisky with a range of delicious local cheeses, taste new make spirit & pure cask strength - a truly unique experience. Come & indulge your senses with this delicious experience, but you'll also be able to learn from an industry expert too! What you'll get - A guided tour of the distillery - Tasting of 4 single malt whiskies plus new make spirit & whisky straight from the barrel - Curated local cheese board - 100ml bottle of whisky. Great facility, great service. Stuart was very informative and knowledgeable about the everything Whisky. And above all the product was second to none. It was amazing. Great to do with friends and family.

I highly recommend this distillery for a wonderful introduction to some of the best whisky's available. Stewart (the founder) is not only a really nice and sincere man, but also spends personal time instilling a wealth of knowledge and makes sure the customers questions are answered to the full. I have already told a lot of my friends that they must pay this venue a visit. I will be there again also.

Very detailed and interesting explanation of the whisky distilling process by the very skilled and passionate owner. There were tastings of four whiskies and a cheese platter, followed by further samples in the main processing room. And each attendee gets to fill a small bottle from one of the premium whisky barrels take home.

When we first arrived at what is a factory in Somerville, we weren’t expecting much of an experience or tour. The shop/ lounge area is well appointed and comfortable. Stuart then took us all on a wonderful journey telling us his families Scottish roots, how he became a whiskey maker, and about the wonderful processes and equipment they use all while tasting whiskeys and feasting on a great cheese platter. We had such an enjoyable tour. I would recommend this to anyone.

Really well delivered informative yet easy to understand overview of what these guys are about and the rich history in the making of this boutique company. Not just for whisky lovers this one, of course the whisky is a big bonus. You won't be disappointed.
