I've been wanting to go to a Meow Wolf project forever (but I live on the east coast and for some reason they havent made anything in DC or NYC) So, on this recent trip to visit family in the Ft Worth area I made it my sole mission to visit The Real Unreal.
It was everything I wanted it to be, the colors, the theming, the weird technologies all came together to make a truly unique experience.
We lucked out because they have 21+ nights and we got to experience the site without a bunch of kids running around so we really got to have time to really enjoy the space (I assume that the place can be a mad house with kids going crazy, but IDK if this is actually the case)
I was most impressed with their use of space, there were a few times where I was certain we would have reached the end of the building but there was still another set piece beyond, it truly did feel like you were in another dimension at times.
I brought my 80 year old grandmother along, all she knew was that we were going to go to a weird interactive art installation. She was awed by what she saw, and I think is going to go back on her own with some friends lol.
I cant wait to go back or to another meow wolf experience the next time I'm in the vicinity of one.
