Overview

Our kitchen is located in a historic building: a 16th century flour windmill in the heart of Palma de Mallorca which we have brought back to life. At MOLTAK we celebrate life as reflected in the kitchen. Where the main ingredients are the stories shared as we linger around the stove, appetisers in hand, and set simple tables. Moments that create sparks, that matter, all cooked together with love and a touch of adventure. Because there has always been a lot of life in the kitchen. A lot of all things good. A lot of joy, a lot to cheer, a lot of flavour, and a lot of laughter. And all that, is what we want to share with you We love sharing our knowledge for local food, culture and our beautiful island.  Participants will elaborate the menu with the help of our hosts. After the cooking session, we will eat together enjoying the best atmosphere and nice wine. “The most exciting ingredients at our table, are always your stories”. Be our guest!

Itinerary

Our hands-on cooking experience in a historic building: an old flour windmill from the 16th century that we have brought back to life. Aprons on, we will dive into our culture cooking all together a 5 dish full menu on a journey all around our country and back to Mallorca. Through our kitchen, we will travel to different parts of Spain, taste traditional flavors and discover the secrets hidden in the preparation of the culinary icons of our culture. Vivan, Ricc, María or Luís, will guide you into the “classic” of every home and the tricks our mums and grandmothers use in the kitchen. Tasty easy to make recipes that you can take home so you can surprise friends & family: local "sobrasada" appetizer, the authentic "tortilla", tradicional "paella" and "Catalan cream". All cooked with loats of love and a pinch of adventure! We turn the process into a fun, team working and accessible session, so that our guests enjoy their time together and feel secure and able to repeat the menus back home. After the cooking session, we will sit together at our big dining table and experience the love for the emotional, social and festive component of the Mediterranean table

Cooking in Mallorca with Vivian!

The Spanish Cooking Experience I participated in was wonderful! From the moment I walked in, our host Vivian was so warm and welcoming. Vivian was very thorough with her explanations and really made me feel like I was in her home cooking a meal with her. There was a group of 7 of us and that was just enough for us all to participate and not be on top of one another. I truly enjoyed myself and I highly recommend this experience if you're ever in Mallorca!

Captivating, memorable & delicious!

Such a unique location and delightful chef and teacher, Ricardo. As English speakers, we were a bit apprehensive about communication, but since the other guests spoke English as a 2nd language, Ricardo was very fluent and spoke only English. He enlisted the class in meal preparation, showing handy knife skills and tips for avoiding tears while cutting onions. We made appetizers, learned how to prepare a calamari and Monkfish, and of course a wonderful paella. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere friendly, fun & captivating. It was a night I'll always remember. Thank you, Ricardo!

We had a wonderful day with Chief Vivian on Oct. 15 at the Moltak Windmill Kitchen in Palma, Mallorca. We were one of four couples in a class to learn how to cook a few Spanish dishes. The facility was lovely inside a 16th century flour windmill. Chief Vivian provided a fun experience and graciously shared her love of local ingredients while expertly providing cooking tricks we could all use at home when recreating the dishes she taught us. Definitely, a five-star experience that I would recommend to others.

Vivian was an amazing host! Our group had a fantastic time learning how to cook several courses of a Spanish meal. The food was delicious, the host was terrific, and our total group of six made it very easy to engage with others and have a great time!
