Overview

We apply a "farm-to-table" concept to our design approach, making every handbag and accessory from local leather, linen, and wood sources. You will make earrings, bracelets, or card wallets from leather processed right here in Missouri while learning about the story of Kansas City's history in the garment industry and its revitalization in the 21st century.

Meeting points

Our studio is at the intersection of 16th and Locust -- just look for the big black signs (our furniture studio next door) on the single story red brick building. Parking is available on the street, or in the parking lot across the front door of the studio.

Itinerary

Make your own jewelry from locally-sourced materials while drinking local wine! Guests will arrive to the Madison Stitch fashion studio in downtown Kansas City and learn about the city's history in the fashion industry, meet the people who are reviving the city's place in the industry, and review many of the products we sell while learning how they're made. Guests will then choose whether to make a set of earrings, bracelets, or small card wallet. Wine will be served from the artisan crafters just down the street from the studio! Water will be available for all guests of all ages. The activity will last about an hour; afterwards you can walk 1-2 blocks to your choice of artisan brewers, distillers, or restaurants in the arts district of Kansas City. A perfectly unique way to experience the city's history and taste what it has to offer!

Excellent, Fun, Experience. Made new friends. Sipped wine. Made a cute bracelet which will always remind me of my Kansas City Hallmark Experience Weekend! Loved our Jewelry Making Teacher! She was so relatable, & helpful. She made the entire experience very enjoyable.
