Our Guided Kayak Safari is a great way to spend your time in amazing Akaroa! This is a once in a lifetime chance to paddle through a marine reserve in an extinct volcano basin. Take in breath-taking scenery and witness amazing geology that is unique to the area. You may have chance sightings of some of the most endangered marine life on the planet including Hector Dolphins, White-flippered penguins, and native sea birds which reside in Akaroa Harbour. All of this is only 80 minutes from Christchurch! Fantastic kayak experience with amazing views, great guide, and lucky dolphin sightings!

We had an absolutely fantastic afternoon on the guided sea kayak tour with Thomas. The weather was perfect, the water was pleasant and Thomas was an excellent guide (very knowledgeable, had our backs when we bumped our rudder around, and kept the group entertained - thanks Thomas!). The highlight of the trip was definitely spotting some Hectors dolphins up close! This is by far one of the best kayaking experiences we’ve had, a must-do in NZ for sure!

Can’t recommend this enough. It was so beautiful paddling around the harbour. Our guide, Peter, was very knowledgeable about the geology and history of the harbour and Akoroa. He made the trip very enjoyable.

These folks were terrific. Peter led a wonderful early morning tour for my friend and myself, and two other people. He was friendly, thorough, helpful, and told some wonderful stories. We enjoyed that he guided us through a couple back-channels behind some rock outcroppings that added a bit of thrill to the morning. We definitely felt we got our money's worth. Adding to this, I had messed up the dates and thought I had booked for the day before, but i had accidentally booked our tour for a month later. The folks at the office were very kind and re-booked us to this morning tour, which was the only one that would fit our schedule, and it turned out to be perfect (less wind, clear weather, great guide (Peter)). BTW, I own a kayak rental business in Massachusetts, USA and I am picky about customer service - these folks hit all their marks. Well done!

Highly recommend booking this! We had a great time. Peter was so knowledgeable and friendly. The communication beforehand was great. It was a bit cloudy with some spots of rain, which honestly just made it feel pretty magical. The water looked like glass!
