Overview

Hop on a cruise to Shell Key Island and see dolphins and other wildlife while snorkeling. At this pristine wildlife preserve, you'll get to snorkel and observe the wildlife, go for a relaxing swim, or just walk along the beach and collect shells. Depending on the time of year, you'll see dolphins in their natural habitat, along with manatees, rays, and wild birds. All of our rides are semi-private, with a maximum of 6 passengers per boat, so you get to avoid the crowds when you ride with us.

Meeting points

We depart from the Tierra Verde Marina Resort, located at 198 Madonna Blvd next to the Island Grille Restaurant, and the Residence Inn Marriot. Please report to the Check-In area at the Island Ferry sign.

Itinerary

Island Ferry's Dolphin-Snorkeling Cruise takes you snorkeling by boat to Shell Key, and to see dolphins at the same time! See dolphins in their natural habitat, along with manatees, rays, and wild birds. Go snorkeling and shelling on Shell Key Preserve, where you'll find hermit crabs, conchs, rays, horseshoe crabs, and more. Island Ferry is not a drop-off service, but rather the boat stays at Shell Key with you for the entire time. You can take a break from snorkeling and shelling, and sit on our shaded boats with a cold drink. And while you and your family are in the water, the Island Ferry crew stands watch on lifeguard duty. So we keep everyone safe! We provide the snorkel gear and the floating noodles.

Dolphin cruise.

Meg was our captain and she was amazing! She was able to position the boat so that the dolphins would ride in the wake and my sons had the best time. My older son is autistic and she tried her best to try and find sting rays his favorite and for that I am so incredibly grateful. She recommended where we could see manatees and we went today and he was able to see some as well as a ray and a shark! I highly recommend her and this company. Phenomenal trip!

Super trip with islandferry

Amazing trip with Captain Noel we were told alot of local information about the area and Wild life. We Saw dolphins - both white and Brown pelicans. And alot of other birds. Capt Noel jumped into the cold water close to a sand bank and showed live sand dollars. We went to Shell key which was pretty stunnin, my wife and kid found a couple of sand dollars to being Home and also found huge live conch All totally worth it and would definetely recommend it to anyone
