Overview

We know almost everyone is a puppy lover! Get ready to ride with a team of 16 powerful huskies many of which are veterans of the Iditarod! This is how their mushers keep them in shape during the summer season. And afterwards, you'll cuddle with adorable Alaskan Husky puppies that will one day grow up to be sled dogs themselves! Learn what it takes from both musher and sled dog to become an Iditarod champion!

Pickup details

Departure Point: Please meet your guide at the pick-up location 15 minutes prior to the tour departure time, our representative will be there holding a sign with the name of your excursion on it. Our guides will be wearing green! We will meet you at the base of the Mt. ... Robert's (Goldbelt) Tram. We will be standing where the cables come out of the building. Because you will be adventuring into the beautiful Alaskan outdoors it is necessary to be prepared with appropriate clothing for inclement weather. It is a good idea to dress in layers, and include a rain or waterproof jacket. Also, for your comfort, sturdy walking shoes are recommended. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Sled Dog Experience

Absolutely loved the experience! Highly recommend it. Downside, my daughter got a tick in her head from petting the dogs/puppies. She broke out in a severe rash and needed Medical Services on the Ship.

An Alaskan Classic

We had no idea that this is where the Iditarod began! Transitions from the boat were easy, loved the ride and special drive by's with Dillon. We were met by Robert who took us on a great ride! His dog team is amazing, his love for them so apparent and the dogs love for running was a thrill! The facility was set up well, Bone is a great storyteller. Loved learning about the dogs, the race and Robert's family dreams. Puppies were a wonderful bonus. The interaction amongst the men was great, funny and so interesting to learn about this Alaskan classic.

Great dog musher team visit

Pickup was well-organized and on time. Dylan was friendly and very knowledgable of the local area and pointed out various Juneau landmarks and history along the route. At the facility, Robert and Bone likewise were welcoming and eager to share their passion for the dogs and mushing with us. Their presentations on sledding and Iditarod history were informative and well done. Each member of the team fielded questions and shared his own stories and insights. The sled run was an absolute blast, and meeting/petting the adult dogs and holding/petting the puppies was an added highlight. Easy 5 stars from our group of 5.

Great Sled Dog Adventure

This experience was exactly what I expected. It was at a dog camp in the middle of a beautiful forest. All of the staff were kind and informative. The dogs were all very friendly and sweet puppies, too! The only negative was that we were told to be at the meeting point 15 minutes early and they were a few minutes late because the driver said there was a mix up on where to pick us up (we went to the place we were directed to in our confirmation). Other than that, it was a great day!

This was the favorite part of our trip! Just awesome. Not only were the dogs fantastic but very touching the way the people cared for them. ❤️ Love learning about the racing.
