Overview

Get ready for a unique adventure on Saona Island! Join us for an experience away from the crowds, where you can explore the underwater world of Catuano's coral reef, relax on the white sandy beach of Playa Dichosa, and admire the splendid natural pool with its giant starfish. Our excursions are small-scale, and our guide is passionate about what he does, giving explanations all day long. We've been working with cruise ships for many years now, so we have the necessary experience.

A driver will be waiting for you at the cab stand outside the La Romana cruise port. He will check that all participants from the same cruise ship, CARNIVAL cruise, are present, using a list provided by us. The cab will take you directly to our office in Bayahibe, where ... we will be waiting for you to depart on your excursion. Read more â–Ľ

Itinerary

  • La Romana

    Transportation will be waiting for you at the taxi stand, at the cruise port exit, where all participants from the same ship as yours will gather. The driver will take you to our office in Bayahibe, the starting point of the excursion.

  • Bayahibe

    You will arrive at our office in Bayahibe where you will hace coffee, water, bathroom and we will present your guide for the day. And you will go at our power boat.

  • Cotubanamá National Park (Pass By)

    Embark on a small group adventure to explore Saona Island, starting at the Penon with a English-speaking guide sharing historyabout the Tainos natives and the mangroves.

  • Catuano

    Our first stop will be on Saona Island, at Catuano Beach. We will spend 20 minutes at this beautiful site, perfect for snorkeling with fins, mask, and snorkel. Some can relax on the boat, while others can snorkel, according to their preferences.

  • Saona Island

    After these wonderful moments, we will board the boat again to head to SAONA Beach, where a Dominican lunch will await us. Once the meal is finished, grab a hat and sunscreen for a swim in the turquoise waters of Saona Island. You will have about 1 hour to enjoy the beach, take incredible photos, and nap by the water's edge.

  • Palmilla

    In beauty, we will end with the famous natural pool where we can spot immense starfish (note: it is forbidden to touch them), have a drink in the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, and enjoy a magical and unforgettable moment.

  • Bayahibe

    Return to the Bayahibe port with unforgettable memories, where your transport will be waiting to take you back to the La Romana port.

Excellent family trip. Great food. Nice staff. Not too much time for snorkeling but it was perfect for us. We saw sting ray, starfish and had a good time in the beautiful water.

We had a great time with Dominican Attitude. Our guidebs were great with the kids. We had a 3 and 6 year old with us snorkeling. We were let off of the cruise late which cut into our tour, however, the guides made arrangements to ensure that we still got to at least see all of the stops on the tour. I wish we had more time to see the turtles and starfish, however, the excursion was great. The pictures don't do the islands visited any justice. I'm defined going to try again flying into the area.

Such a wonderful day! Well organised trip. Even when we got a puncture it was sorted quickly without fuss. Our guide Christian and his team made it a special and enjoyable day packed full of facts, fun, food and laughter. Photos taken of the experience were brilliant too. A very memorable day

You should book this trip instead of the P&O organised one. The payment is taken a couple of days before you arrive in case you need to cancel. Speedboat ride was great with fabulous beachside scenery in the way to Saona. Snorkels, masks and fins provided. Stops include the turtle incubation nursery, a Caribbean barbecue on the beach and private beach stop for coral reef snorkelling (about 200m from beach edge). Also stopped at Mangrove to see turtles and stingrays in the sea and at Natures Garden to go padding amongst starfish, plus stopped mid sea to feed some friendly birds birds. It has more stops than P&O organised tour, full of fun and excitement and the hosts are very hospitable and the free rum on tap! Only take this trip if you enjoy drinks on tap, dancing and laughs all day. Got back at 5pm in plenty of time for boarding. Justine, El Capitan and the crew took good care of us all day.
