We will access an area of the largest geyser basin in the park from an obscure entry point that few people know exist. In this area we will hike to multiple hot springs, geysers, and fumaroles that will get us into a place that's hidden in plain sight and few other tourist ever seem to find. This trail os often our clients favorite part of their tour. Over the years we have received tremendous feedback on this family friendly hike.

What Makes the Grand Prismatic so Grand? Grand Prismatic Spring, located in Midway Geyser Basin, has the distinction of being the parkās largest hot spring and third largest inn the world. It measures approximately 370 feet (112.8 m) in diameter and is over 121 feet (37 m) deep. A description of this spring by fur trapper Osborne Russell in 1839 also makes it the earliest described thermal feature in Yellowstone that is definitely identifiable

Magical winter yellowstone day tour

Our mid-December one-day visit to northern yellowstone was incredible. We would highly recommend Andrea and would love to visit again in a different season just to see a different perspective. Andrea picked us up at our hotel in Bozeman at our agreed time of 6am. He has a new, well-equipped, upgraded and very comfortable black chevy suburban- the snow tires and heated back seats were a must for the snowy chilly day on which we visited. Andrea was very knowledgable about history and other details of the park and surrounding areas and inhabitants and gave us a great background en route to the park. We had such a great day, with elk and deer being our first sighting, followed by a pack of six wolves that we, along with some other locals who follow the wolves regularly, had the pleasure to watch using binoculars and high-res scopes provided by Andrea. He also shares the videos with you afterward so you have them to share with friends and family. The experience of chasing the wolves and watching Andrea and the other professionals communicate via their walkie talkies to help each other locate wildlife was so cool, and seeing the wolves alone would have been worth the trip. But we also saw many dozens of bison, including a nursing calf, which were just gorgeous. We then saw two golden eagles as well. Took an amazing hike through a very beautiful canyon, and the snow started coming down at that point, so it was a stunning winter wonderland hike we will never forget. We also saw many more elk, and then two coyotes that we stopped to view through the scopes for a while, followed by two more single coyotes. We also saw the mammoth hot springs, with a stop at the hotel, which had just opened that day. Very cool and a cute gift shop for souvenirs. Lastly we saw a large waterfall, which was only partially frozen and very beautiful, followed by a group of great horn sheep which were also very beautiful. The drive back was also stunning, as it was dark when we were initially driving to the park that morning. Seeing this area of yellowstone in the winter was very special! And Andrea was a fabulous host and guide and we learned so many interesting things. We absolutely loved the experience!
Great guide for a great tour! Made our trip super easy.

My husband and I went on the wildlife tour for our first day in Yellowstone and it was fantastic. Our guide, Alex, met us before the crack of dawn at our lodge in Gardiner with a thermos of hot coffee. First stop was a private ranch north of the park where we saw bison, herds of elk and pronghorn, and the most amazing bear watching ever. He is a conservation biologist and could tell us a lot about the animals, habits and habitats. He provided all the scopes and binoculars. From there, we went to Lamar Valley and saw, among many other animals, a large herd of buffalo on the move, had a picnic lunch, and took a couple of walks off the beaten path. We saw rivers, waterfalls and magnificent scenery throughout. He gave us pro tips (parking, etc.) for our own exploration the remaining two days of our stay, which saved us a lot of time and were spot on! We were able to cover the geyser basins, Old Faithful, grand canyon, Hardin Valley, Yellowstone Lake -- all we wanted effortlessly. Having a guide made our time in Yellowstone SO EASY. I would not hesitate to recommend this company (good communication and setup) and Alex in particular.
