On this tour you will visit renowned wineries. One of them is Casa Valduga, but you can replace it with others within our visitation perimeter, in the cities of Garibaldi and Bento Gonçalves (Vale dos Vinhedos). You will have a driver/guide available for 10 hours to visit wineries in the Serra Gaúcha region. We will guide you in the search for wineries according to the type of wine or sparkling wine you prefer. You will enjoy the landscape without having to worry about driving, being driven, in complete safety, in a car with passenger insurance and by an accredited guide with great knowledge about the region and everything it can offer to visitors: History, Culture , Gastronomy, Wines and Sparkling Wines.

Itinerary

Bento Goncalves

We'll leave the hotel at 9 am heading to the wine region of Vale dos Vinhedos, in Bento Gonçalves. During the tour we will be able to stop to take pictures. We will assist passengers in choosing the wineries that best suit their personal taste, if they do not wish to visit the wineries suggested in the itinerary. Visitation/tasting fees are not included. Casa Valduga: R$150 (freebie) We will bring the historical and cultural aspects of Italian immigration to place the visitor in the context of the region. There are several restaurant options, mostly Italian cuisine. Some of them offer vegetarian and vegan options. Around 5:30 pm we will return to the hotel.

Casa Valduga Winery

Known for being the first winery to introduce wine tourism in Vale dos Vinhedos, Casa Valduga offers its visitors an immersion in the world of grapes and wine. The winery opens its doors so that the visitor can learn about the wine and sparkling wine making process, knowing the technology and care taken to produce high quality products. During the traditional visitation, two red wines, one white and two sparkling wines will be tasted.

Delightful tour with an excellent, engaging English-speaking guide

Ricardo Lohmann is a superb tour guide. He is knowledgeable, engaging and warm with a great sense of humor. We enjoyed our tour of wineries in the Vale dos Vinhedos so much we hired him to guide us on the Caminhos de Pedra, the path and story of Italian immigrants in Rio Grande de Sul. We were eager to taste the renowned sparkling wines from the area, which we did to our delight at Casa Valduga. Ricardo also took us to Peculiare where we tasted varietals originally from the country of Georgia, a unique experience for us. We come from wine country - Washington State, USA, and have toured many wineries there. We were delighted with the beauty of Serra Gaucha and the delicious wines and food we enjoyed there. We, unfortunately, do not speak Portuguese. Ricardo’s English is very conversant; we always understood him and thoroughly enjoyed his company. We highly recommend him.

Wine Region in Brazil

This was our first trip to the Brazilian wine region around Bento Gonçalves and Garibaldi. We had an AMAZING time. Our guide Ricardo knows the region so well. He shared so much history about the area and took us to some very well known wineries as well as small up and coming ones we would never have found on our own. Ricardo pointed out the best places to find local specialties like charcuterie and chocolate as well as lovely places to dine. His English is so easy to understand. He expresses himself well and did everything he could to please us. We had a memorable time. Obrigado Ricardo!

Extraordinary Wine Guide!

Ricardo was amazing! We took a full day tour with him to wineries that he recommended. All were exquisite. He recommended a wonderful Italian restaurant for lunch. He is very knowledgeable about the area and one of the few guides that speak English. Highly recommended!

Relaxing, educational and confidence boosting

We had an extremely pleasant day, in Ricardo’s company. He is knowledgeable about the wine region and his diverse background helped the conversation flow easily with the three of us, my wife and my 91 year old mother in law. We do not speak much Portuguese, but Ricardo made us feel comfortable and dealt with any translation issues with ease. The choice of wineries was good for us we felt very welcomed and relaxed, obviously Ricardo has a very good relationship with them. Lunch also was delicious another great choice. I would highly recommend this tour as a means to get to know and feel confident about the region.
