This PRIVATE San Sebastian city and coastal tour gives you the opportunity to experience the amazing Basque city of San Sebastain. San Sebastian is one of the most beautiful and elegant cities in Europe. The city has some of the best gourmet pintxo (tapas) bars in the the region, a quaint old quarter, and an absolutely stunning beach in the city center. You will also experience the dramatic and rugged coastline of the Basque Country where we will stop for some visually stunning photo opportunities. We make a stop to see ancient Flysch cliff formations of Zumaia and the GeoPark. The scene overlooking the Atlantic Ocean will leave a lasting impression. This was also a shooting site for season 7 of the Game of Thrones television show. Lastly, we will stop off in the small port city of Getaria for lunch (not included) where you will have the chance to taste some of the finest grilled fish/seafood in Europe!

Donostia - San Sebastian
-We begin this Basque experience with a guided tour of San Sebastian. We will first walk to Zurriola beach before heading to the old quarter of the city. Zurriola is a great place to watch the surfers and enjoy the beautiful Atlantic Ocean!
-We offer a detailed historical overview of the city explaining the unique fiestas, culture and traditions found in the elegant city by the sea. You will also get to see the second beach of San Sebastian called La Concha where Isabella II of Spain chose to build her royal palace.

The beautiful fishing port on the Basque coast famous for the Txakoli (local white wine), fishing fleet, old quarter and of course the amazing seafood restaurants.

Scenic ocean views overlooking the amazing Flysch formations dating back millions of years. Also, a major shooting location for season 7 of the Game of Thrones television show.

We had a wonderful time touring Spanish and French Basque regions with Zach.
Visiting wineries in Rioja ,tasting Pintxos in Bilbao, fresh grilled turbout in Getaria. Amazing architecture, beautiful nature , small charming towns , historic sites , farmers markets,green mountains, and coastal breathtaking landscapes.

Needed More Days in Basque Country!

We really enjoyed the Pintxo tour on our first night in Bilboa, but our next 2 days were amazing! Irene shared the beautiful Basque culture with us with visits to San Sebastian, Getaria, Gernika, and my favorite, Arratzu. Not only did she take me to my grandfather's birthplace, she also found the cemetery for me and spoke with the locals where we had an amazing family style lunch! I found my "family " with Best of Basque!
A fantastic tour of the San Sebastián area!

Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly and took us all around old town San Sebastián. The beaches are beautiful and the town was lovely. We also visited Getaria for the monk fish and Txakolà wine….fantastic! Finished off the tour with Zumaia, where we saw some beautiful rock formations from game of Thrones season 7. Very comfortable luxury car and excellent guide!

Tour was excellent. Zack, our guide, was knowledgeable and the trip, an all day event, was well organized. Our lunch was superb and not hurried like a lot of tours. We had a wonderful time.
The Best of The Best

This was our second tour with The Best of Basque. The first was the night before; a pintxos tour that introduced my husband and I to Basque culture and cuisine. Delicious and fun. Highly recommend.
The next day we did a private customized tour that included going into lower France; French Basque country. In France we visited Biarritz, St. Jean de Luz and ended with San Sebastián back in Spain. The whole tour was relaxing and interesting. From door to door pickup/drop off and comfortable ride to each cities history, culture, architecture and of course the food. I am quite resourceful at finding where to go and where to eat when we holiday but did find this a bit overwhelming in Basque Country..... Zach took us to the cultural "go to" places making sure we saw and ate the best of Basque; places I had not discovered searching online. It was an unhurried enjoyable way to see and experience the area.
