Overview

A great day to visit the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid of Dashsur, the Step Pyramid of Zoser in Saqqara, and the old capital of Egypt, Memphis. This tour will introduce you to the two ancient necropolises and the ancient capital of Egypt, Memphis - Sakarra and Dakhshur, which in historical terms are no less significant than other famous landmarks of Egypt. We conclude the tour with a visit to the pyramids of Dahshur which date back more than 4,600 years. They contain a number of hierarchical groups and monuments including the pyramids of King Senefru, the curve pyramid, and the northern pyramid or the Red Pyramid. The Pyramids of Senefru are the most important pyramids that illustrate the development of building the pyramids in Egypt. We did the Saqqara, Dahshur and Memphis trip, guided by Hosni. I booked it online about a month before and received instant confirmation. We asked the company to take us to Saqqara and to the old Coptic area. Zizou, an Egyptologist, took us around and gave excellent explanations of the sites. He offered a brief presentation of ancient Egyptian history to help us get a good picture of the area. Zizou is well versed on history, hieroglyphics, religion, and probably a lot more! Thank you to Zizou and driver for a great day.

We visited Sakkara, Dahsur and Memphis with Mohamed Gomaa. Mohamed began the tour with an outline of Egyptian history and explained in much greater detail about the places we visited when we were there. He was able to answer all of our questions and was good at finding photo opportunities. We both went inside the pyramid of Unas at Sakkara and my husband tackled the Bent pyramid at Dahsur. The quick visit to the carpet factory was interesting and finally Mohamed helped us bargain for a souvenir when we visited Memphis. This was a really interesting day out and we can recommend the tour especially with Mohamed Gomaa as guide.

Zizou was a phenomenal tour guide. Very passionate about Egyptology and very accommodating to our tour group. He was able to reccomend us multiple things to do and more importantly what not to do. At each location he was able to tell us the history in a meaningful way. And importantly take phenomenal photos! The car accomodations and driver were great as well which made for a seamless day. 10/10
