Overview

Learning to surf with Sandbar Surf School is a lifetime bucket list thing that you will never forget. We are the premier surf school in California's Central Coast and we have been teaching surf lessons here in Pismo Beach since 1996. We have tons of local surf knowledge as well as many of our instructors are world travelers/surfers. We truly love what we do and you will have the best time in the world going with us. Laugh with us, surf with us and maybe even come to one of our bonfires! We would not only love to meet you from wherever in the world you are from, but we promise that your surf experience with us will be the part of the trip that you can't stop talking about in the days to come. Meeting points

Look for our big white box truck in the parking lot that is on Addie & Park street down by the beach. There are a couple surf schools so make sure that you get the RIGHT one. "SANDBAR SURF SCHOOL" and "SURF LESSONS" will be all over a big white box truck.

Itinerary

Enjoy marine life and beach activity. There are loads of fun stuff to check out on the boardwalk and in downtown Pismo, just ask your instructor and they'll give you the best local info.

Amazing instructors. Took great care of our 13 and 9 year old kids. Very chill and easy crew. Can’t go wrong. They took the time and ensure the kids had over two hours in the water.

My kids had an amazing experience with the surfing lesson! The instructor was patient and made learning fun. He provided clear guidance and helpful tips, which made it easy for beginners like my kids to catch some waves. The equipment was in great condition, and the atmosphere was friendly and encouraging.

10/10 experience. Truly a great event that our entire family enjoyed. The instructors were caring, kind, fun, and especially with my little kid, took care of them so I could focus on my surfing. I never had a moment where I felt like I couldn't have fun, my kids were not watched, or that as an adult getting judged. It was truly about getting in the water, catching waves, and a positive, FUN experience. When we scheduled we originally booked for an afternoon, but had to reschedule to another morning due to weather conditions- it was super easy to do so. When we arrived that morning, everything was well organized, punctual, time was kept, and they made sure to maximize our time on the boards and in the water.
