We have done quite a few food tours throughout our 7 months of exploring Southeast Asia, but this one set the bar quite high. The entire experience was much better than any other that we've done. Fist, we were picked up at our hotel by our guide and tuk tuk driver and given a gift (Lost Plate can coozie) which we used throughout our tour to drink the unlimited beers that they had in a cooler on the tuk tuk. There was also water available as well. Our guide, Vy, was very nice, spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable of the foods and history behind everything we ate. We felt that the stops were very well thought out and the food was amazing. We even had a bonus surprise when I told her that I would eat anything. So we stopped at a stand and I tried a Balut, which is a fertilized developing egg embryo that is boiled or steamed and eaten from the shell. I tried it, but I will say, I will not be going out of my way to eat that again! But it was nice that she was listening and made a special stop for me to try something really exotic. At the end of the tour we stopped and got dessert and had a drink at a rooftop bar overlooking the Russian market, before our driver dropped us back at our hotel. Oh, and at the end, we were given another gift, a Lostplate canvas zipper pouch with stickers inside. Just a great experience all around. Highly recommend!
