Overview

Experience the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor from the place bombs first fell on the fateful day. Discover how aviation began and defined the war in the Pacific, and rose out of the ashes of Pearl Harbor to inspire hope, redefine freedom, and galvanize a nation to overcome. Spanning two historic WWII-era hangars filled with aircraft, exhibits, and artifacts of the men and women who gave their lives for freedom, Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum offers a can’t- miss stop on your pilgrimage to Pearl Harbor. Be sure to add the Top of the Tower Tour to your experience - for the first time in decades, the Ford Island Control Tower. Guests ascend 168-feet up in a vintage elevator and are greeted with 360 view of the battlefield. The guided tour paints the picture of the attack: highlighting the flight path of the Japanese aircraft, sharing the stories of our heroes, and allowing for a moment of reflection and appreciation for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

    Enjoy general admission to the Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor and step back in time to discover more than 70 years of Pacific aviation history. Begin your journey at Pearl Harbor on historic Ford Island in the actual hangar that survived the December 7, 1941 Japanese attack. Peruse Hawaii’s largest collection of air crafts and learn the stories that made them aviation icons. Watch a stirring film featuring actual footage of the attack narrated by Pearl Harbor survivors. Afterward, visit the museum store for aviation gifts and souvenirs. Along with a free audio tour available in available in English, Spanish, Japanese, French, Korean and Mandarin (ask for your headsets at the front desk upon entry), the museum is also home to a Hangar cafe.

One of the best aviation museums around

I am going to be very biased here because I am a massive aviation nerd. The Pearl Harbour Aviation Museum is one of the best I have been too. Seeing an actual Japanese Zero on display, incredible. The Museum building was so well displayed and had great air conditioning. The shop was great also. The aircraft displayed outside was surprisingly very well maintained compared to some other outdoor museums I have been too. Hangar 79 was very empty besides the Swamp Ghost but still worthy of a look. Only downside was the cafe had a gas (propane) issue when I was there which meant only 2 or 3 options on food was available and the deli sandwich that I got was below average and for $15 was a total rip off.

Our 2nd time coming to Pearl Harbor from the states. Love the history! Everyone so friendly and knowledgeable enjoyed the gentlemen speaking of the airplanes material of the wings!

I'm an aviation enthusiast and love looking at aircraft, even different entities of the same model. It was a great experience talking to the team and getting a few inside stories about 'Swamp Ghost'.

It was very interesting to see Disney's contribution to the war effort of World War II. The artwork that was created to support the war effort was insightful and interesting. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed the audio self guided tour of the museum. It was very interesting and informative. Seeing the plans and the stories of the pilots made history come alive!!
