My wife and I booked this tour to explore more of Panama's countryside during our stay in Casco Viejo, and it did not disappoint! We were picked up on time at 8:00 am sharp from The American Trade Hotel by a taxi arranged by Bandits. After some heavy traffic leaving the city, we arrived at Bandits around 9:45 am.
The check-in process was smooth and simple, and we were given a quick but thorough safety briefing before starting the tour. The helmets and goggles provided were clean and comfortable, making us feel well-prepared for the ride. We were assigned a Honda UTV that may not have been the flashiest, but it was incredibly reliable. Over the next 5 hours, it held up through some pretty challenging trails with the only fault being out of aligned wheels and no reverse gear.
The day we went, the trails were dry and dusty, so I’d highly recommend bringing a face covering. The dust from the UTV in front of us was intense, but thankfully we were prepared. One of the highlights of the tour was seeing a sloth along the trail – a truly unforgettable experience! The waterfalls we encountered were a refreshing break from the dust and heat, adding a beautiful touch to the ride.
Both tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. One spoke English, which made communication throughout the tour smooth. As an avid ATV/UTV rider, this tour had everything I was looking for: challenging trails, stunning views, and a great overall experience.
I would definitely book this tour again when we visit Panama in the future and highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the countryside and enjoy some thrilling off-road adventures!
