Overview

I am going to teach and surprise you with the wonders hidden inside the cloud forest of Monteverde. Walk the trails of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, considered the MOST famous cloud forest of the world. Let me guide you and let’s Lear about natural history of plants and animals, tradicional medicine and ancestral knowledge that has passed from generation to generation.

Itinerary

This activity is great for outdoors enthusiasts. Before going to the reserve of your preference we are gonna meet to decide where to go. This walks takes about 2.5 to 3 hrs and thru the forest, an experience to learn about different topics: birds, mammals, ancestral medicine and history of the most iconic Quaker community in Costa Rica: Monteverde.! Is a combination of cultural and nature walk.

Our tour was with George Jr., who was extremely knowledgable about the trees, plants and animals in the cloud forest. He was excellent at spotting animals we never would have seen on our own and made an extra effort to help us get close up photos through his scope. He was very nice and very patient with all of our questions.

I highly recommend doing a tour with George! We had a great time at the Cloud Forest with him. We saw a lot of monkeys and some birds as well. He has a lot of knowledge about orchids and other plants and takes beautiful pictures.

I had the most amazing time with George of the Cloudforest. I’m a really big fan of birds and so is George, so we went on a quest to see the quetzal. And we succeeded! George speaks really good English, has a lot of knowledge of the nature and animals of the Cloudforest. I really recommend going on a guided tour with George!

We had an extraordinary and fabulous three days on private tours with George in Monte Verde. I can’t sing his praises highly enough. On Day 1, we went birdwatching in Curi Cancha. George’s expertise as a trail guider and birdwatcher is outstanding: thanks to his fantastic abilities we spotted the glorious quetzal on our first morning!! George also hikes with a top of the line birdwatching scope and helped me get excellent shots of this magnificent bird. George also expertly spotted several other major species for us of both animals (like capuchins) and other birds (like hummingbirds and tanagers). When I wistfully told George that I would love to see a toucan … lo and behold he spotted one for us! I couldn’t believe it. On Day 2, George also led us through a fantastic Hanging Bridges walk and on Day 3, we had the hike of a lifetime in which we spotted several rare and endemic species and then culminated in an amazing trip to El Tigre. George’s knowledge of local flora, fauna and history are terrific and he is a warm, engaging and professional companion. Our whole family had a blast with him. Thank you George for a marvelous time in MV!!

George is the best guide, no question! He brings such passion and knowledge to you tour through the cloud forest that you won't want your time with him to end. We have been in Costa Rica now for 3 weeks, visited all of the parks and had tour guides in all of them and George far exceeded all that we had before,,,and we've had some really god guides, George is just that good!
