Full Day Guided Wine Tour: Introduction to wine tasting and wine appreciation, key wine styles and methods of production, the art of wine making.
Duration: 10 hours: Departure from Carcassonne between 08h30 and 09h00 returning at 18h30. Comfort breaks and lunch on route.

Overview

We provide unique and very personal half day tours of some of the best wine producers in the Languedoc. Tours are for 2 to 5 people maximum and are tailor-made to your requirements. Tours are lead by our own professional and experienced wine expert who will educate and inform you about wine like few other tour guides can do. Unlike other tours we take you into the heart of the vineyards where you can see and touch the actual vines which make the wines you are tasting at that moment. Our special connections get you access to people and vineyards that few outsiders ever see or meet. We also take you to see some of the best kept sites and secrets of the Languedoc. You will come away with your senses brimming with new experiences, smells and flavours.

Meeting points

We will collect you from your hotel in La Cite or you can meet us at the wine shop on the ground floor of 38 rue Barbès. Please note the tour finishes back in Carcassonne.

Itinerary

SUMMER During the summer months from April to the end of September the tour will start at 0900 leaving from Carcassonne and returning to Carcassonne to finish at1300. Guests are chauffeured in a luxury air-conditioned Volvo XC90 4x4. If guests wish for a full day excursion please enquire at time of booking. During the tour guests will visit two wineries and have the opportunity to taste and discover at least 12 different wines from some of the most important and notable producers in the region. Your guide will provide a full initiation into the history of wine in the region, an introduction to the art of wine making and how to taste and appreciate wines. We will present wines in the vineyard and at the wine cellar. There will be time for some visits to historic sites, with a light lunch of delicious cheeses and Charcuterie accompanied by local wines. All wines tasted will be available for guests to purchase at a special rate after the tour.

Fantastic and educational tour around the local regions, got to see much more and learnt loads on the trip with Alex. He tooks us to some brilliant wineries and we were lucky enough to sample some of the wines standing next to the vines that produced the grapes that made the wine!!!
