The kayak tour begins on a quiet beach, where you will receive a brief training on how to maneuver the kayak and safety measures. Then, paddling through the crystal clear waters, you will be guided along the rocky coastline, passing impressive rock formations and small hidden coves. The main attraction of this tour is the majestic Benagil Cave, a sea cave famous for its opening in the roof, which lets in sunlight, creating a magical effect of natural lighting. Upon entering the cave, you are greeted by a small internal beach, where you can take photos and enjoy the spectacular view. This kayaking trip was probably the highlight of our 9-day trip to Portugal! Vitor and his team were very friendly and knowledgable. They sent us detailed information about where to meet and park the day before. Rather than leaving from one of the popular, crowded beaches, we disembarked from a quieter area that is used mostly by locals. Their recommendations (smaller group, earlier morning departure) made for the perfect trip. There was fog over the water when we departed which broke just in time to see Benagil cave and several other stunning caves and rock formations. We were a smaller group so we were able to move quickly between the sites and to have the caves to ourselves at each stop. It is also clear that they prioritize safety and sustainability, which is important to us! Would recommend.
