During our recent family holiday in Honolulu, our group of eight attended the Ka Moana Luau at the iconic Aloha Tower. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warmth and genuine aloha spirit, making us feel like part of their āohana.
The evening began with interactive cultural activities that engaged all ages. We tried our hand at lei-making, learnt basic hula steps, and even had a go at playing the ukulele. These experiences provided a fun and educational insight into Hawaiian traditions.
The buffet dinner was a culinary delight, offering a variety of island-inspired dishes. We enjoyed traditional favourites like kalua pork and lomi lomi salmon, complemented by fresh local fruits. The quality and flavour of the food exceeded our expectations.
The highlight of the evening was the entertainment. The performers took us on a captivating journey through Polynesia with traditional chants, dances, and songs from various islands. The Samoan fire-knife performance was particularly exhilarating and left us in awe.
For families staying in Waikiki, the luauās location at Aloha Tower is convenient, and transportation options are readily available. Our entire family, from the youngest to the oldest, had an unforgettable evening filled with culture, cuisine, and captivating performances. We highly recommend the Ka Moana Luau to anyone visiting Honolulu.
