Overview

Discover peace and tranquillity in the beautiful woodlands of Brighton’s nature reserve - Stanmer Park, and experience ‘Shinrin Yoku’ – also known as forest bathing. A unique antidote to the hustle and bustle of modern life, this method of observing nature and breathwork is proven to reduce stress, improve memory and offer a calm and peaceful clarity. Your four-hour experience will see you walk through remote parts of the forest with an expert instructor, taking in the sights and sounds of the woodlands and open fields, followed by a beginner-friendly session of feel-good yoga flow and forest bathing. It’s the perfect opportunity to get back to nature, reconnect with yourself, and discover a new hobby. Good for locals and tourists.

Itinerary

Enjoy wellness and nature in the scenic countryside behind Brighton. We will start the day with a feel-good yoga flow in One Garden, before heading into the surrounding woodlands to experience Shinrin-Yoku or forest bathing. One Garden is Brighton's most beautiful garden, surrounded by the Southdowns Nationalpark, just a 15-minute drive from Brighton centre. Yoga at One Garden We will meet at 9:30 AM and start the day with yoga in a cosy studio or on the beautiful lawns. The studio is tucked away, with two bi-folded doors creating an inside-outside atmosphere. Also situated inside the tranquil garden walls is a restaurant, a food market, and a cafe. Forest bathing? The term shinrin-yoku means "taking in the forest atmosphere". It is as simple as walking through nature and connecting with what's around you. The practice is proven to reduce stress, improve memory and offer calm and peaceful clarity. Weather The weather is mostly fine, and the event is lovely, even with some light rain. The event can easily be adjusted to an indoor/outdoor event as the studio is surrounded by nature, a beautiful garden and the great woods.

A wonderful restorative experience

A lovely restorative experience led by Xenia, who was extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. Made me feel at ease and the yoga was accessible for us all. The time in the trees was really special and I learnt so much from the session.

On arrival we were greeted by Xenia and offered tea and scones whilst waiting for the remainder of the group. Yoga took place on a hill with views to the Downs which was followed by a walk into the woods for forest bathing. The day ended with a beautiful homemade lunch which none of us were expecting. A very chilled day. Thank you Xenia for welcoming us and helping us relax

Had a fabulous afternoon at this retreat. Wonderful experience doing yoga outside and met great people. Friendly environment. Xenia was a great teacher and the food she provided was an added bonus, all organic and plentiful. I would highly recommend.

A fantastic day out - insightful knowledge on nature in the area, a great yoga session outside with stunning views - even with some tree yoga! Then super relaxing forest bathing and foraging. Loved it Xenia is a great instructor and guide - I will be booking this again next year for sure :)

I went on this experience with my two friends to celebrate one of their special birthdays. We didn’t really know what to expect. Our host was lovely, very knowledgeable and so friendly. I won’t spoil with all the details but we took lots of photos and came away feeling thoroughly refreshed. Highly recommend!
