Overview

As the first of its kind in the Southern hemisphere, MOUA will act to highlight reef conservation, restoration, and education on a global scale. The site located on John Brewer Reef is rich in history, with a strong connection to our indigenous culture and marine tourism. The Coral Greenhouse – first submerged building design by world-class artist Jason deCaires Taylor is is a bucket list trip no one should miss! The greenhouse, which many people think of as glass walls filled with fruit or flowers instead boasts a beautiful mix of art and science. Trees, life-like sculptures, and coral gardens make this staggering 72m structure a wonderland for divers. With plenty of reef nearby to explore and depths ranging from 1 to 20 metres, it is ideal for snorkelers, beginner and experienced divers. On the reef, schools of bait fish are common as well as an abundance of colourful reef fish. Turtles, Stingrays, White and Black tip reef sharks are often sighted.

As we sail towards the reef, relax on our vessel, choosing between shaded areas or soaking up the sun on deck. Before we reach our destination, join us for in-water briefings to get ready for an exploration of the reef's most spectacular sites, whether you're snorkelling or scuba diving. During breaks, our passionate guides share fascinating insights into the reef's vibrant ecosystem. Our dive location isn't just any spot – it's home to MOUA, a pioneering attraction in the Southern Hemisphere. Nestled amidst the historic John Brewer Reef, MOUA is steeped in indigenous culture and marine heritage. Surrounding the museum is a breathtaking coral reef bustling with a kaleidoscope of marine life. As we bid farewell to this underwater realm, our crew escorts you ashore, leaving you with cherished memories and photos.

Snorkel tour with Adrenalin!

Amazing snorkel tour of the reef! I saw hundreds of fish and was surrounded by coral, and I have the beautiful photos to prove it! I wld recommend a snorkel tour with Cassey as ur guide, esp if ur going solo. She is a wealth of knowledge and spotted lots of things I wld have missed, such as the humungous Triton snail eating a purple starfish. All the work Cassey and Adrenalin does towards conservation was an eye opener. I did not know that people count the fish and coral in the sea. And it’s not easy! MOUA - the museum of underwater art - was visible as a snorkeler. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to see it, but the sentinels and trees were clearly visible. It was really eerie looking down on the statues. Almost like looking on a lost Atlantis. All up a top trip and the catering catered to Coeliacs including being careful of cross contamination in the buffet. Thx Matilde! Would thoroughly recommend!

Great dive (even for baby divers)

Boat ride was great and crew kept us entertained. Once we got to the site we were in quickly and had an amazing dive saw some cool stuff. Had a few gear issues that I should have noted in gear check as they got annoying later on but crew were supportive. Lunch was simple but good surface interval flew by. Second dive was even better so much aquatic life. Overall highly recommend even for new divers

Great family trip with teenagers to explore and experience the Great Barrier Reef. Great boat and crew who made it a great experience. Expect a long (2.5 hr) ride out to the Reef from Townsville. We saw lots of marine life and cool underwater statues. Would do this trip again!
