Overview

A fun and different way to see Birmingham! Solve satisfying clues and follow beautiful maps sent to your phones. Spot things other people take for granted! You’ll learn interesting facts and stories. Everything is outdoors and you can do social distancing.

Itinerary

You’ll be led around the city by Captain Bess, a snarky pirate who’s testing out new recruits to join her ship! Bess will send a series of maps, clues, and directions. You follow the map and solve the clue by searching for your surroundings. When you get the right answer, you’ll move on to the next place. Don’t worry, if you get stuck you can ask for a hint and Bess’ll get you on your way! Along the way you’ll see lots of sights and Bess will tell you some fun facts about some of them. It’s a perfect way of discovering things you might want to come back to. The game works a bit like an online group, but on a web page instead. You don’t need to download anything and it doesn’t need any permissions. Before you’re due to start, we’ll send you a link to the game. Open the link to join the game and share it with your team so they can join too. Once you’re ready, Captain Bess will tell you what to do next.

Treasure Hunt around Birmingham

This was an excellent experience and thoroughly enjoyed it. The whole experience was so well put together and presented and it was fun and very interesting too. We learned so much about our own home town that we didn't know and saw so many different parts of Birmingham. The clues were thought provoking and really made you think. There were just the right amount of clues and the time it took to achieve them was ideal - not too long, but not too short either. Loved the fact that you got a score and a medal at the end of it, along with a summary of what we had achieved throughout the activity. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was nice to do something different; it was exciting, fun and interesting and I would highly recommend this activity to anyone. Well done to the creators of this event; they have done an excellent job and it was very reasonably priced with excellent visuals, instructions and interesting facts.

Brilliant, what a fantastic little adventure with my partner. Now know of some lovely new places and some cool history about Birmingham. Thoroughly enjoyed it - will definitely try out some other cities if available. Thank you.

We had such a good day discovering parts of Birmingham that we did not know existed by following instructions and fathoming out the cryptic clues ! We stopped for lunch, at the suggested break in the clues, on the terrace of the old Button Factory in the Jewellery Quarter and then completed our “Treasure Hunt”. A thoroughly enjoyable day and highly recommended !!

Fab treasure hunt around a city that we thought we knew quite well but this highlighted hidden gems and information. Loved the game and bar suggestions. Would recommend and do again with friends.

Absolutely great time doing this. Only downside was the clue after Symphony Hall which says "Don't cross the canal" was misleading so you need to go onto the bridge.
