Overview

Blue Horizon Diving is the only diving school on Koh Phangan that offers fluorescent snorkeling and diving activities. We have professional and specific equipment: ultraviolet diving lamps and masks with yellow filters to accentuate the phenomenon of fluorescence. You will also have the appropriate diving or snorkeling equipment as well as a wetsuit. We have been practicing this activity for almost 10 years and are happy to share our experience with you. This fascinating activity, accessible to all, is practiced at night. During the activity, divers and snorkelers can experience the reefs of Koh Phangan in stunning fluorescent colors thanks to a natural reaction of corals with ultraviolet light. Thanks to our experienced guides, you will discover in exclusivity this phenomenon of coral fluorescence which is very little known and practiced.

Blue Horizon Diving and Adventures is located at the entrance of Wangsai Waterfall, next to Koh Maa Beach, in the north part of Koh Phangan.

Itinerary

1. You will try your equipment to find the best one for you (wetsuit, fins, masks). 2. You will attend a very interesting briefing about the corals and fishes, the fluorescent effect, your gear, the marine environment and your activity. 3. We will give you some extra professional gear: You will receive a white + an ultraviolet dive light to see all the coral and anemonies in fluorescent. 4. We will go together to Haad Yao Deuk, a very secret beach from where we will swim out to the reef to do the fluorescent snorkeling tour with our UV flashlights. 5.You will see the unseen. You will stay in the shallow area. The reef is very close from our dive center and from the shore. For this activity of fluorescent snorkeling, you will discover the reef with one of our professional guide. 180 species of coral react with this ultraviolet dive lights. Your instructor will take care of you and show you the best part of the reef with its secrets.

Awesome snorkel Views you never had before

Guides knew a lot about local Marine Life, showed us a lot of interesting sea animals, best snorkel Equipment I've ever rented at a Tour and the Guide Provider US underwater Videos of the Tour for free. All in all a perfect experience!!

We did the nighttime phosphorescent snorkeling trip and it was terrific. Chris was a great guide and the glowing coral and anemone were beautiful. This was a very unique activity, would highly recommend. It’s a whole new way of looking at what’s under the ocean.

A truly amazing experience meeting both coral and other sealife just underneath you!

Blue Horizon Diving Centre is the only company on Ko Phangan offering UV snorkeling, and I must say: it was an amazing experience!!! We selected snorkeling as not all friends had an Open Water Certification required for UV diving, but we have no regrets selecting this. Owners Mimi and Cris take you to a ‘desolated’ beach in complete darkness, where you enter the water: already an experience on its own at nighttime. In the low tide, we got sooo close to the coral it was truly amazing. On top of this, we were lucky to find a great number of fish, but also saw a stingray, an octopus and crabs. I totally recommend this activity with Blue Horizon as they also take care of safety (wearing a suit to protect you from algae and/or jellyfish) and not making groups too big.

Magical snorkeling experience!

I booked a day trip to Koh Phangan on a whim, and ended up staying 3 days once I found Blue Horizon Diving. Koh Phangan has some lovely snorkel sports on the Northwest side. I rented some quality equipment from Blue Horizon, and ended up wanting more--so I tagged along on their dive boat to Sail Rock the following day. Apparently, the water is usually cloudy with low visibility during the monsoon season (Nov/Dec), and the waters are rougher. Despite rain and waves, I had a wonderful time snorkeling around Koh Ma, as approached from the oceanside by boat. The corals were vibrant and many fish to be seen. Later, at Sail Rock, I had the exciting experience of being surrounded by HUGE schools of fish. Cris took the time to educate me on the marine biology of the area. I hadn't received this on the other dive tours I joined on the island, so this detail elevated the experience. I went on the florescence night tour twice--it was that magical! Despite the cloudy water, the coral reefs looked like something out of "Avatar". We saw squid, pufferfish, rays, and other creatures dancing by. The corals were so vibrant in various colors, I don't understand why this type of diving is more popular,. It's one of those thing you must do at least once in your life--you will miss out if you don't include this in your itinerary. Blue Horizon Diving as a company is ethical, eco-conscious, knowledgeable about ecology, sustainability, and science. By far the most informative and interesting tour companies I've ever joined. I appreciated their avoidance of single-use plastics and personal safety precautions for their customers. Cris and his team are kind, personable, talented, and attentive. As a solo female traveler, I always felt safe and in good company. I am planning on returning for beginner SCUBA instruction in May, when there is good visibility and a chance to see whale sharks!
