Fee includes everything consumed on the walk. Taste the most local food in Athens. Skip the tourist traps and discover the local bites of the greek culture. More than 14 traditional, delicious, freshly cooked tastings. We will be walking in the heart of central Athens, where Athenians do their shopping for the daily meal. We will introduce you to the vendors of our favorite local shops, share traditional breakfast delicacies, smell and learn about herbs and spices, visit a deli shop to taste the original honey glazed yoghurt. Have seated lunch, cheese tasting and dessert in a traditional restaurant During the walk, you'll meet our old friends in the oldest vegetable, fish and meat market of Athens and you'll also try our best wines and distillates of the region. Get some local insight into recipes, tips for Athens, the islands and the culinary traditions. Join us in a “Mediterranean Diet” food tour and discover the secrets of our culinary tradition. Book a food tour to fully appreciate Greek cuisine and it did not disappoint! Douk our tour guide was fun, engaging, and knowledgeable. Tried local favorites such as olives, honey, feta, olive oil, and some traditional baked goods! Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens.

We had a great foodtour, and we did a lot of others foodtours on our holidays, but this one was the best so far. It was informative, fun and delicious. The guides are so friendly it's like you are walking with family, I would recommend this tour 100% Thanks you so mutch!

The best walking tour in Athens

I’ve done a number of tours/excursions in the last few years as I’ve traveled, and this is by far one of the best I’ve ever participated in. This tour was original, authentic, better than described and truly provided everything it said it would. Douk was funny, real, informative and made it his mission for us to see authentic Athens through his eyes. We walked the neighborhood, stopping in at little family stores, small restaurants, open air markets where no other tourist were in sight, and tasted authentic Greek specialties. At the end, Douk brought us to a lovely restaurant, and as we waited for dinner, he made us homemade tzatziki and then supplied us with the recipe. Our group left at the end of the tour feeling we had actually seen Athens (or what you can see in a few hours) and that we had more than gotten our moneys worth on this lovely walking tour. If you only have time for one tour in Athens, grab this one as soon as possible, you won’t regret it. Thanks, Douk and we have plans to make your tzatziki recipe at our next gathering!
