HIGHLIGHTS • Visit the caves of El Castillo and Las Monedas, both world heritage caves for their cave paintings • Walk around the cozy village of Puente Viesgo  • Enjoy the views over the Pas River SUMMARY After picking you up at your hotel, we will travel to Puente Viesgo to visit the famous caves of "El Castillo" and "Las Monedas", both World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, 2008. The "El Castillo" Cave has paintings considered among the oldest preserved in the world. The silhouettes of hands in negative are famous, which according to archaeologists belong to more than 50 different people. Las Monedas cave will offer us beautiful silhouettes drawn in charcoal from the Magdalenian period. This cave also has a high geological value. Finally, we will take a short walk through the village of Puente Viesgo

Great tour and our guide was very nice. Pretty amazing to see the caves and drawings. I would highly recommend to anyone who is in the area. There is a bit of walking and a few steps! But 100% worth it.

Paid for this as a tour so that we got an English translation. Great to see the cave formations and hear some of the history discovered. Went to see both caves both have cave drawings dating back to 40k years ago.(various stages) Can be slippery as ground is wet. Amazing to see it. No photos allowed and you may not get to see it in a few years time as it’s a UNESCO site and we are contaminating the site by our visits.

Such an experience to be in the presence of expressive markings from 40,000 years ago! Lots to ponder. Caves are a marvel in and I of themselves, too!
