A private car or van service is RMB1200. maximum duration is 8 hours. C Entrance admission for Baoding rock carving is RMB130 per person. D This tour is customizable. If you are interested in rock carving very much, there are do sites in Dazu for you to check.     Dazu is a county of chongqing municipality. Dazu rock carving represent the entire 50,000 pieces rock sculptures and 100,000 inscriptions throughout Dazu county. all of them fall in 75 different sites. Baoding is the most famous one. construstion of Dazu rock carving spans between early Tang dynasty(7 century ) and fall of Qing dynasty (fall of 19th centruy). peak was at Song dynasty( 10th century to 13th centruy). Dazu rock carving is one of the four most famous buhddist rock carving in china. Baoding rock carving has a history of more than 800 years. features of Baoding rock carving revolving with buhddism are : 1 it is a only tantric buhddist rock carving in Han chinese inhabited area. 2 it is a only buhddism preaching carving instead of a praying carving in china. local lay buhddist Mr zhao zhi feng spent his entire life--70 years to design, raise money and orgerniaze . it is a integrate buhddist scripture. 3 it shows the melt of the buhddism with confucianism. sculpture of thousands hand of godess of mercy is a amazing art work with 1007 arm in different gestures. reclining buhdda is another treasure. so even you do not understand buhddism a lot. Baoding carving is a treasure art gallery as well. almost all sculputures are original.

Great tour of Dazu with David

David, out tour guide was fantastic. He booked a car for us, gave us a fantastic tour and took us into town away from the tourists for a lovely local lunch. All in all a fun and informative day. Back at the hotel David helped us plan the next day and helped me work with the hotel to get my internet working! I highly recommend the tour and David. John (Washington, DC)
