Overview

The Best Damajagua Waterfalls Shore Excursion and Party from outside the main gates of the Amber Cove port in Puerto Plata awaits! Your REAL adventure starts with a narrated, countryside drive to the Damajagua Waterfalls "base camp", located at the edge of a tropical forest.  You will cross a river and streams before making an approximately 30-minute uphill hike. Your return to base camp will be via a series of jumps and slides through waterfalls and natural water slides carved by centuries of rushing water. Your highly skilled coach and guide, a member of our "Jump Crew",  will be with you from  start to finish - making all the jumps and slides with you! The party starts immediately following your adventure when your coach becomes party host! You will enjoy free-flowing rum punch and lively local music on the return. Your adventure and party is approximately 4-hours leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the Amber Cove Cruise Center.

The hike and waterfalls were gorgeous! Some of the people in our group were exhausted from the hike but me & my kids enjoyed everything about it. The guide was thoughtful and allowed many breaks or a slower pace to accommodate.

Great Times at Waterfalls with Puerto Plata Adventures

Puerto Plata Adventures was our company that gave the tour and Jordan was our guide. He was fabulous. Very down to earth and nice person. He told us about the history and culture as we drove to the Waterfalls. He prepared us very well, explaining what we did and didn't need. He made sure we had a chance to change/go to the bathroom both before and after. We received a bottle of water to drink on the way up (local regulations don't let you keep it longer). We teamed up with the main waterfall crew, but Jordan stayed with us the whole time and offered more concise directions than the rest of the group received. We always knew what was coming. He spoke English very well and honestly rarely even noticed anything that he didn't understand that we said. Was very personable. We enjoyed local fruit and rum punch on the way back from the excursion. The company he works at offers other tours as well. We will either do a longer waterfall tour or a town tour next time, but will definitely request Puerto Plata Adventures and Jordan.
