Overview

Visit the Historical Valparaíso Port with its panoramic views and bohemian lifestyle. Later enjoy Viña del Mar (Garden City) and beaches. Enjoy the finer things in life as you travel along the central coast of Chile to visit the Patrimonial Valparaiso Port declared in 2003 by the UNESCO as World Heritage Site. It is Chile's most culturally active city, full of artists, poets, restaurants and art galleries. Later, you'll visit Viña del Mar (a.k.a The Garden City) - it used to be a land full of vineyards but is now a modern city full of life, history and beautiful beaches.

    Valparaíso, declared World Heritage by Unesco, come to meet this historical place, an important piece all over the Chilean history. Approximately from 08:00 to 08:30 a.m we will be picking you up from your Hotel located nearby Santiago downtown, Providencia, Las Condes, Vitacura. You'll depart from Santiago on this full-day excursion to the Pacific Coast, pass through the beautifully groomed vineyards of the Curacavi and Casablanca valleys before arriving in Valparaiso.

    Valparaiso, Spanish for Paradise Valley, is a cultural hotspot that serves as one of the country’s most important seaports. The entire city is recognized as an UNESCO World Heritage Site for its intriguing cobblestone labyrinth of streets, historic buildings, and ancient funiculars along steeply sloping hills; full of artists, poets, restaurants and art galleries. nicknamed “the Jewel of the Pacific.” This coastal township’s historic architecture, steep hillsides and funiculars, and bustling port city ambience offer up charm in spades. From the 21 de Mayo lookout, you'll enjoy spectacular panoramic view of the city. Make your way up to take in sweeping views out over the harbor, and listen as your guide points out some of the city’s major landmarks before continuing on to the resort town of Viña del Mar.

Admire the waterfront Wulff Castle, the 1930s-era Viña del Mar Casino, and the rosy pink entrance to the Presidential Palace. Viña del Mar, home to the most-visited beach on Chile’s central coast. The city boasts beautiful parks and gardens, and miles of sparkling beaches. See the Presidential Castle, Liberty Avenue, the 1930s Casino, and various classic century-old mansions. As a part of the experience, you may want enjoy lunch at a delightful Viña del Mar restaurant (optional, not included). Enjoy some free time on your own to stroll the streets, check out the beach before the return trip to your hotel.

Great way to see Valparaiso

Francisco was prompt on pickup at the hotel and after a few more pickups, we were off to Valparaiso! Francisco gave a running commentary on both Santiago, the road to Valparaiso and the towns themselves. There were opportunities to walk down the streets and visit the high points in the city. I wish we had more time to walk the streets and go up one of the funiculars. The trip to Vina Del Mar consisted of lunch at a nice restaurant (not included) and a visit to a monument and the floral clock. Would have preferred more time on the streets here too. Francisco made the trip and I enjoyed the very much. It is a good introductory to the city if you are not staying there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour to Vina del Mar and Valparaiso. Our tour leader was punctual, polite, knowledgeable and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The lunch was very good in a wonderful setting. It is a tour that I would recommend to anyone.

Pamela and Marco were great to be with on the entire tour. The lunch choice could have been a less fancy place, but the food was fresh. The views were scenic and the stops were all very historic in scope.
