Overview

Have a great ceramic making experience! Get the chance to express yourself through pottery in this 2 - 3 hours ceramic class - course. Come with your friends or with your kids and play with clay while learning the basic skills of ceramic art. Make your own ceramics under the directions of ceramic artist Dionysia Avouri, the owner of Adamieion Ceramic Art Studio. During the lesson you create a turtle and a second more free form, with the style and decoration depending on your creativity and imagination! We fire your creations and you collect them after three (3) days or we send them to your home. The studio is located in a pleasant environment among olive trees and vineyards. Admire some of the oldest olive trees on the island, aged more than 1.000 years old! You, your friends and your kids are welcome to play and create with clay, away from the noisy tourist resorts. You have the opportunity to create your own unique souvenirs, your ...ceramic memories from your holidays in Zakynthos.

Itinerary

First you visit the exhibition-shop to get an idea of Dionysia' s work. Then you work with Dionysia for 2 to 3 hours to get familiar with clay and create your own unique ceramic memories from Zakynthos island. The standard project includes the creation of two pieces a turtle and a second more free form (bowl, tile etc). The shape, the style and the decoration of the 2 pieces depends on your imagination and creativity! Your ceramics will remain to dry under the sun and then I will glaze and fire them. They will be ready out from the kiln 72 hours (3 days) after the workshop, depending on weather conditions and my kiln firing schedule. After the workshop you may have a walk in our farm and admire some of the oldest olive trees in Zakynthos.

Me and my two kids had a wonderful pottery afternoon with Dionysia. She lovingly guided us and we made turtles, bowls and small amulets. It was so much fun and she offered best coffee, orange juice and sweets. Dionysia is a true artist, she not only teaches handcraft skills but also philosophical ones :). Thank you very much for this great experience!

We had so much fun during the Ceramic workshop. My partner even told me this was te most fun activity we did during our vacation. We both made a turtle and a bowl. Dionysia gave us good instructions and she took good care of us. The most fun part of the class is that you don't just get a random souvenir, but you make your own personal memory that you can take home. Thank you for the great experience!

This was such a lovely thing to do on my 37th birthday! We learnt a lot, enjoyed the very relaxing atmosphere of the beautiful garden and came away with some unique beautiful pieces. Would definitely recommend!
