Overview

Explore the very outer Great Barrier Reef in luxury and style with Calypso. The custom designed vessel will take you to Agincourt or Opal Reef, both regarded as some of the most significant sites on the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkeling is the easiest way to experience the reef or try an introductory dive, no experience required. For the advanced divers, certified diving is available. Let Calypso take you to the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef and explore the rich and diverse coral gardens.

Itinerary

Experience the outer Great Barrier Reef by immersing yourself amongst the coral and marine life with snorkelling or introductory / certified scuba diving. During the day you will visit 3 spectacular sites on the Great Barrier Reef to see the diversity of this natural wonder. We want you to know we are taking the current health crisis very seriously and will always put your health and safety at the forefront of our operations. Calypso adheres to a COVID-19 Safe Plan.

Diving within 48 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
Additional dives may be booked and paid for on board (subject to availability). Maximum of three dives in a day.
Children under the age of 12 years are not permitted to dive.
Evidence of dive certification is required from all divers wishing to participate in a certified dive
Children must be accompanied by an adult
If its raining on your day of travel, the tour will still go ahead. If Calypso cancels due to poor weather, mainly high winds, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund

Go dive the Barrier Reef, you won’t be disappointed

We had originally booked onto the big cruise in ignorance so be careful when looking at the website. If you’re qualified as a scuba diver, book one of the smaller boats and go to 3 dive sites rather than the pontoon and just do 1 dive. My wife went snorkelling while I was diving and not being confident in the water, she felt very safe with the tuition and safety features. The dives the skipper selected for the day we went were very good, plenty to see down to 14m and each dive lasted approximately 40 minutes. The snacks and food included in the tour price were plentiful and welcome after diving! I would have gone out again if we had had the time, everyone on the boat from skipper to dive leader and crew were extremely friendly and helpful

The crew was very professional and accommodating. The provided lunch was fabulous. We did one dive and a lot of snorkeling. Enjoyed everything about it. I highly recommend.

We booked this on our own as an excursion on our cruise. We had 2 non swimmers in our group and the guides went above and beyond. The Great Barrier Reef is a must see and Dave, Charlie, Alyson and the rest of the crew made it extraordinary!

Had a great day diving with Calypso! Our dive master Reenie was fabulous - she clearly loves the ocean and was really excited to show us all the marine life along the reef. We did 2 of the 3 dives. The crew was friendly (we enjoyed a nice chat with the boat captain on the last stop while most everyone else was snorkeling and diving) and everything was extremely well run, professional and safe. We had great weather while out on the reef and followed a storm back into port, but the ride was surprisingly smooth. Definitely recommend!

Crew was very attentive and professional; and extremely helpful in accommodating to the masks, snorkels and fins! Locations chosen and under sea life seen were very neat! Crew were very knowledgeable about the coral, plant an animal life.
