Discover the streets & stories of Oranjestad with you own personal Local Expert Aruba Walking Tours offers the islands' local scoop during a 2.5-hour journey by foot in an interactive and engaging way. This authentic experience takes you to over 30 amazing sites in downtown Oranjestad, while a Local Expert shares fascinating stories on the islands' rich history & culture. Stops are made to visit monuments & museums (when open), sample Aruba's local bites and even for a little shopping on-the-go. During the Aruba walking tour plenty of "photo ops" and even encounters with Aruba's charismatic locals are provided. Making your way through the city was never this entertaining! The group tour is available Monday, Wednesday or Friday daily. Departure 9.15 am. Meeting time: No later than 9 am. For customized experiences and other departure times you can book a private tour for couples, families and corporate groups.

  • Fort Zoutman Historical Museum

    When open, enter inside the Historical Museum to learn and see Aruba's old fort built in the 1700's. Also climb the old clock tower built in the 1800's for an amazing view of Aruba's downtown.

    Learn about two impressive statues in the Park and also see a large amount of iguana's.

  • National Archaeological Museum Aruba

    When open, visit the inside of the museum to learn about Aruba's first inhabitants. See pottery, skulls and tools that the Indians used during the early days. The exterior is a beautiful backdrop for pictures of Aruba's old architecture.

Évy recently led my partner and I on a tour through Oranjestad, Aruba. She was extremely knowledgeable and had tons of energy. There are plenty of stops along the way for shade, and a few places to grab a snack or use the restroom. Évy even gave a few recommendations on where to eat and what types of food to try. If you want to learn what life is like on the island, or more about the history, this is a great start!

Wendle was absolutely amazing!! He was a phenomenal guide, told us so much about the history of different places, showed us how locals greet each other, and explained different events in recent history that have shaped Aruba today. The food stop was very yummy and gave us the opportunity to talk to some other truly native Arubans. Wendle kept making sure we were hydrated, sun screened, and made sure he answered any and all questions that we threw his way. The tour was great and we would absolutely recommend.

Over the several times we have been to Aruba, we FINALLY found looked into learning about the history and culture of Aruba and its people. We booked this tour directly with Aruba Tourism. We were contacted directly within a very short time. We were provided with the contact information of the guide "assigned" to our tour. We met Wendle at the first tour spot (pick up at hotels is provided but not return transportation) and spent the next 3 hours learning SO much about the island, its history, its governance, the impactful people/events that made Aruba what it is today. Wendle regaled us with a great deal of personal insight and experiences. He graciously extended the prescribed length of the tour to ensure we saw, heard, and understood the depth of the stories and facts that are Aruba. We 100% recommend this tour to everyone - whether or not you are a "history buff".
