Great day trip, great staff, snorkelling, starfish, turtles, stunning scenery, a must do! Take your own lunch and drinks as they are quite expensive otherwise.

We (2 couples) took the 6 Hour Private Saona Island Tour with Snorkeling on Oct 1, 2024 and had a great time! If you can justify it, I definitely recommend going with the private tour as we were not crowded and could customize our time at each location. We spoke directly with HEIKE ahead of time and went ahead and added the lunch and drink package which I recommend. We also requested HEIKE add juice to the boat to add to the rum for rum punch which she did at a small additional cost. HEIKE remained in communication with us throughout all of the planning for the trip and was always available and responsive. We were picked up from our resort (Breathless) on time at 8:15 AM. The AC in the private van transportation broke on the way to the resort, but quick communication with HEIKE resolved this and the van was replaced with another shortly after leaving the resort (great response and great overall private transportation!!!). Snorkeling was ok with lots of fish and got to see a large sunken boat. Got to see starfish at the calm wading pool area. Also got to see sea turtles at the mangroves. Water, beach, and lunch at Saona island were wonderful. I would definitely book this excursion again and highly recommend it!!! Feedback/suggestion: the snorkel mouthpieces provided were in bad condition and need to be replaced. THANKS SO MUCH FOR A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!

I was primarily interested in the private tour as I didnt want to be on a 10-14 hour excursion (transfers, etc), to then spend just an hour or so on Saona Island. Many of the other options use a catamaran and speed boat, to make for a super long day. Touring via speed boat and at our pace, was perfect. Heike was super responsive to all my questions and also provided details on add on itinerary options, private transfer and lunch. We used the private transfer and our driver was very courteous, would highly recommend. He was at the dock, even as we arrived earlier than planned and helped to hose down the sand from our feet/sandals and offered us a stop at a local store, if we needed to pick up anything. We decided against the buffet, in case some of our party got seasickness, but I would recommend it. We ordered off the menu and granted we were a party of 7, it took 1.5 hours for our food to come out. The food was great and fresh, just prepared in island time. The island is a nice visit, but we enjoyed all the other stops to/back, along the way. No one got seasick (perfect weather and the speed boat helped), it wasnt an overly exhausting day and the private excursion was definitely worth the price.

Wow. If you are ever thinking about booking this trip just do it. The communication was great. The private transportation was on time and the driver looked after us like family. The captain and first mate made sure we made the most of our day. Lunch was also great. Would book this again tomorrow.

What an amazing day! 6 of us went on this tour to Saona Island and it was a highlight for all of us. 3 big highlights were the island itself (we arrived early when it was quiet, bliss!), spectacular snorkelling (in Bayahibe particularly) and the vivid turquoise waters of the natural pool where we saw starfish and manta rays. The organising was done super smoothly by Heike, who was great at communicating. We did not go for the lunch / refreshments option as it was much cheaper to bring your own. The Captain and “Junior” were very good - very little English, but looked after us very well. Doing this as a small group felt really worth the money, including collection and drop off in an air conditioned minivan. Don’t umm and argh - just do it!
