Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Sapa by bus with a long trek Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai – Ta Van village (L, D) 6.00 – 6.20: Pick up from Hanoi Old Quarter, transfer to the big bus and depart to Sapa Town. 9.30: Follow the highway to Lao Cai city 13.00: Arrive Sapa Town 14.15: A short drive to Y Linh Ho then trek through the rice terraces and along Muong Hoa Trekking distance is about 9 kms and it lasts for 3.5 hours 17.45: Check in homestay. Day 2: Medium trek Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai village (B, L, D) 8.00: Have breakfast prepared by the family. 8.45: A trek through the bamboo forest and stop to have a panorama view of Giang Ta Chai village Trekking distance is about more than 5 kms and it lasts for over 2 hours 11.00: Trek through the Giang Ta Chai Bridge to main road, 12.00: Return Ta Van Village 12.30: Have lunch. Afternoon: Relax at your stay and leisure on your own. Day 3 : Midium trekk to Ta Van Mong- Hang Cung village- Sam 2 village - Lao Chai and return to Ha Noi (B, L) Have breakfast 8:30: Trekking distance is about 6 kms and it lasts for over 2 hours 15:00: Get on bus to go back to Hanoi with two comfort breaks. 21:00 Arrive Ha Noi.

Great tour. Our guide Cat was amazing, shared many things about her culture that made the tour so much more meaningful. Treks were great, good pace where was able to enjoy the views but not too slow.

Fantastic local tour

Our guide was the very lovely Su, who really made the trip feel local for us, and gave great advice. The hikes were a bit slippery after the rain, so I would hesitate to recommend to older people but the trip was amazing. There were plenty of animals along the way such as buffalo, chickens and pigs. The views were exceptional and the pace good. Su was great with English and gave us an explanation of the local areas and history, and even in the end we had a private tour with her (me and one other), where she was kind enough to show us her house and make me some tea. A truly local experience, strongly recommended to adventurous people. Pack good shoes and buy the raincoat if it’s raining for only a dollar. I didn’t and should have.

Great sapa homestay

The mountains and the views are really nice. The village was interesting and a great experience. Our travel guide, Su, was really nice and very accommodating. She explained lots of things and for the last day even gave us a private 2 person tour. She helped organise adjustments in plans, such as free time in sapa or another tourist staying at a hotel for the 2nd night.
