Overview

Where in the world can you lie in your bed and watch lions? Our unique lion cabins are whiskers away from our lions night enclosure. This 2 night tour allows you to stay at Tenikwa in unique accommodation and enjoy the natural surroundings with the sounds of nature all around. Our private forest reserve with ancient rainforest stretching down to the coast is home to wildife and interesting plants and rare birds. You may have the opportunity to see them on your forest walk.

Meeting points

From the N2, take the sign that says "Monkeyland/Elephant Sanctuary/Tenikwa. At Animal Alley, keep left. Drive past Kurland Village and keep right at the fork. Drive a short distance down the gravel road, and turn right at the Tenikwa Entrance sign. Drive through to reception where you can check in

AMAZING LION CABIN EXPERIENCE

We had THE BEST honeymoon at Tenikwa. Thank you for teaching us all the ins and outs about the animals and what Tenikwa is all about. You guys are doing an amazing job. Thank you for your warm welcome and excellent service.Especially with our room.All the staff were helpful and friendly. We had so much fun on the tours, and our tour guide taught us a lot of interesting facts from animals to fynbos and was more than happy to answer our million questions. Special thanks to the amazing chef, Davidson. He made sure that you left the Boma on a full and satisfied stomach. Your meals and the lady's breakfasts are AMAZING. The lion cabins are a must-have experience, and we loved our vocal neighbors (lions).

Great fun sleeping so close to the lions. We could see them from our cabin and feel the vibrations of their roaring going straight through our bed at night! It was a great experience to stay in such a special place. The kitchen was well equipped and the gas oven meant we could cook even when load shedding was taking place.

Wow…. This was something so different and so real. The people that run this place are truly special. The knowledge and genuine care for the centre and all that it encompasses is beyond. We slept in a fab self catering chalet directly in front of the lions and surrounded by the other cats…. The dinner on our first night, breakfast and our picnic lunch all prepared by the most caring of gentlemen, Davidson was second to none. Len, his wife and all the staff give their everything to this place and it shows… heart and soul. Couldn’t ask for anything more…

An incredible experience!! The lions are so close, you can see them from your room, and hear them in the morning! The private tours are a wonderful way to see the animals. Would recommend highly recommend :) Davidson and Peter were incredible guides as well, and were very welcoming and kind The place is quite isolated so best if you have a car :)
