Explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park on the officially endorsed tour by the World of James Herriot. This tour focusses on the countryside and locations used for filming the new All Creatures Great & Small TV series starring Nicholas Ralph in the lead role of Yorkshire Vet, James Herriot. You will enjoy photo stops along the way and a lunchtime stop in Grassington, used as the main filming location for "Darrowby". You will also have the option to visit the award-winning World of James Herriot Visitor Attraction in Thirsk to see where Alf Wight (the real James Herriot) lived, worked and wrote his series of books, based upon his experiences as a young Yorkshire Vet. Our driver guides have many stories to tell of the real-life James Herriot and are passionate about sharing their local knowledge and experiences with you.

What To Expect

1. World of James Herriot Your first stop is the World of James Herriot Museum in Thirsk. Here you will get an insight of the real life character and his inspiration for his best selling books. 1 hour 30 minutes

2. Grassington The main lunchtime stop is in Grassington, the filming location used for "Darrowby" in the new All Creatures Great & Small TV series 1 hour 30 minutes

3. Yorkshire Dales National Park See the filming location scenery used for the new All Creatures Great & Small TV series including village greens of Darrowby, Churches used in the series, The Alderson's family farm and the stunning Yorkshire Dales rolling hills. 2 hours

4. Hawes A refreshment break and the opportunity to visit the World famous Wensleydale Creamery before we drive back to York through Wensleydale. 20 minutes
